That feel when you fanmail yourself instead of email customer support xl

edit:the help link referred me to attempt uploading with a direct connection so I'll try using ethernet and see how that goes.

While file location is hard to blame, my files are on the C: drive as well. I sent them an email but no response yet, I'll be sure to update all of you in case they say something worthwile for everyone.

currently my latest saved name is r2dr-songname
but header information... I'll have to check that out. Does Bandcamp do all the header information itself for me then?

oh well, use soundcloud

I gave up and put them on soundcloud last night but I'd like them up on Bandcamp cus my friends have expressed a desire to support me in my endeavors.

ooooh other nice ideas... Cus I just had problems with FLAC too. I'll turn off my bastard child antivirus Norton (unwanted resubscription sad ) and see if that works on the next run. And I'm half certain Chrome wouldn't have any problems but I have had issues with some flash bits before... particularly on SIMNET. I'll switch to Firefox, turn off firewall, and do one more go before i decide that someone at bandcamp.com doesn't like me.

*edit: Still no. :l

Alrighty I'll have to look up a FLAC codec for Audacity and try running that. Thanks for the tips! I'll update if I'm still having issues.

So I get everything ready to go for this sweet heck of release of a few singles and what else would happen but consistent upload errors. I'm doing everything it says, uploading .wav's, etc. Anyone have any idea what would cause this? Is bandcamp sensitive to slower/busier networks? I have no idea how to make this right. Any tips would be appreciated*!

for what it's worth, I'll tell you my experience with ASCAP:

once I was in an indie rock band. we cut a record with a legit producer and were well-funded. so, we hired a huge promotions company (the ones the yeah yeah yeahs and white stripes used at the time) to do our college radio campaign. it was very successful, we were in heavy rotation for weeks on over 100 stations and were #1 on 28 stations. This isn't *huuuuge* success, but we were beating a number of new major-label releases in the same markets. feelsgoodman.

total radio play (mechanical) royalties for 38 weeks of solid airplay on hundreds of stations? $57

THANKS ASCAP!

the reason is that most stations pay blanket royalties to ASCAP/ BMI / SESAC, which the individual rights organizations then dole out based of percentage of the market. so even if you are doing great in small markets (college radio chiptuene shows), you area still competing (withn the right organization) for the money that station is paying with lady gaga and biebs, regardless of whether or not they are actually played on that station. basically, if you have a major label team of lawyers behind you, you are likely taking that money.

all I get from ASCAP is letters on how bad piracy is and how I need to write my congressman supporting ACTA or SOPA or PIPA, but I have made CONSIDERABLY more money from piracy than from ASCAP.

$50 free bucks a year to be played on the internet, I can dig it. Thats like, 50 extra thirstbusters per year.

I'm making EMS carts work atm, especially considering a dragnderp is 1/5 monthly salary, I'm fine with only mediocre reliability. tongue

Actually i have a question about this. The issue with the clear outline. Couldn't you just use a crafting knife after you lay it down to cut very carefully around the lettering as to get rid of clear blocky out line? Then maybe run a clear coat of spray paint over it so it's actually painted into the gameboy and not just a sticker or series of small sticker that can peel off over time? Seems logical to do this on a clear boy, maybe not any other DMG model though if you like to keep the texture of the gameboy in tact. But if you are going to custom paint the whole case anyway I'd suggest a clear coat just to help prevent scratching and paint peeling or chipping issues. So maybe it'd work on both clear and normal DMGs depending on what look and feel you are going for.

Its probably what I would do in the situation. Anyway, so I'll post my designs in a bit I have a few running designs and some decent means of getting them started (as clearboy shells are low atm, unless kitsch is getting some soon?) but as soon as my paycheck comes in I'm going to get started getting some of this rolling cus I got some sweet heck of designs to roll out.

faint clear outline is fine by me! I don't trust my hands, I'm no wizard like vex. I could try but I know it would come out like *insert favorable word of exressing terribleness*
Where do you get these decals or did you get them printed somewhere?

Saw this post on an unrelated search o.O
but it still doesn't answer my question. Did vex repaint the logo on his harley quinn DMG himself or is there something I'm missing out on. (Because his logo is alternating black white black at one point, so modification of the logo HAD to have happened, but it looks perfect, hence my question)

So I'm planning on painting my gameboy but I've noticed something on other custom paint jobs, particularly those by vex (the harlene quinzel job especially).
The logo is kept intact, is this done by a certain technique that I am unable to locate or fathom myself or do you guys simply copy the logo back on there?

All still up for grabs, feel free to shoot me some offers.
