I think it's great for beginners (speaking out of experience). How do you start out? Get the software, watch tutorials (youtube lsdj guides). After that watch advanced shizzle (danimal cannon, animal style). Some time after ask some CC from people who are doing this for some time. I just think it's a good and logical step somewhere in the process. And I'm happy to do it here instead of 8bc where the reactions are more mature and do actually tell you something that could be helpful.

I didn't learn guitar without songbooks and/or a teacher, why should chipartists do it completely on their own?
If you make up a riff, you're going to ask your friends what they think about it.

I think it's a great way to help newcomers to chip, because that's what Belgium needs to my opinion. But that doesn't mean it's the only use.

I don't care, I totally dig it

If it has been asked before I'm sorry, but I can't recall/re-read 38 forumpages.

Is making and importing your own kits any different with these?

Created a soundcloud group for all Belgians, I do hope they'll join in because I seriously underestimated it.

I'm glad to hear that there is a decent amount of chipmusicians in Belgium! Hit me up if you're going to do something over here, maybe I'll join in!

This guy wants to organise something, maybe even as soon as October.
Also, nintendoom seems to have woken up.

For experimenting: go to older tracks, fuck with Vshift, resonance, wrap, and everything. Fun, and to me, the changes make more sense when heard in existing tracks.

Not sure if sarcasm or just really Vengaboy,....

On the other hand electric likes the "variation" which was just plain errors. Took them out. Scaled them all a major fifth down, but some needed only 6 semitones.

Recording is terrible. Sadpanda used my own recording of "Beastie Boys - Girls", I can't for the life of me understand why he didn't want the .Sav file instead to record it himself. My soundcard is the stuff nightmares are made of.
Silent, laggy,...

I hate that movie, but that guy is so great.

Another great reason to play older video games.

The kick loses 4x4 feel on the verses, and lacks the build-and-drop feel of the original song. Otherwise, the notes are there, and seem to be correct.

Yeah, the drums on the verse are different, it's really odd ( 1 2 Kick 1 2 3 Kick 1 2 3 4 kick 1 2 kick) and on 160 bpm it just sounds terrbile imo.
The percussions don't change which makes it even more shaky.

Now that you mention it, the build-drop has dissapeared, yeah

I would really, I mean reeeeaaaally like some CC on this track.
Remix of one of the most horrible/amazing songs in the world.
Warning: 160 bpm remix.

I have a few hunches, but I don't want to influence the CC. So I'm gonna see what's said, look if it matches my thoughts, and ask if you agree with my perspective afterwards.
If this thread lives that long, which it probably won't.

Busy since January this year.

me: I make music with gameboys...
woman: Because piano is for nerds?

I loved that, she kind of meant it.

Like, to eleven.

Music-wise it's great.
Lsdj wise I'd say a little more action with commands to mix things up a bit. P, L, R, V, alternating pulse with W cmd, stuff like that.

But maybe that's just me, I also started January/February.

Looking for a ride to Eindbaas in september, but I don't see it in the upcomming events yet.

Maybe you could look up Nintendoom.

Yesterday they asked when Belgians wanted the next 8bitparty, today they asked for local Belgian talent.
