And if you do set up a shop, set a limit of 5 orders or something, so you don't get bombarded all at once!

awesome thanks for the kind words!

i am feeling very inspired now, and that is a very good idea about limiting the order, i think i will do that to start off and see how much i can cope smile

the best system is probably making then selling.
so there's no backlog. but you can also take custom
orders. just dont let them pay until your read to actually
build the device.

as far a mods go...
i want a 9v battery mod like gijs gieskes.
pitch dial, underclock, bi-verted backlight,
and the prosound all in one.

If I were you though I would try to rewrite the program in asm. Actually that's what I did back then and failed for some reason. Maybe I should try again now...?
In the meanwhile, post the samples you want to use.

yeah,
ill hit yew up on gmail about this.

also i got an email from 8cylinder last night.
he said the version of the pounder rom on his site
is in fact not the newest version. he promised to
update the site soon.

*sigh*
i have tried a similarly asinine technique already with little results...
i was hoping someone had done something like this already and
had some kind of real situational knowledge.

i'll just say it now,
im trying to change the samples in pounder.

true,
but i expect it to be stored in a similar way.
and the down and dirty process of replacement,
no matter where the data is... is what im looking for.

hey,
i did a few searches and didnt turn up much.
can someone point me in the right direction?

all im looking to do is replace a few sound samples in a classic gb rom.

i know *some* asm, and im pretty confidant with hex / hex editors

thanx!

at the top of the music section is the header + main menu...
then below that is the paging system.

could you please mirror the paging system at the bottom of the page as well?
or at least give me a button to send me to the top of the page.

thanx!

Ikea sells 10 packs of really good AAs for $1.99 so I could honestly not care if I'm ditching them early either.

you could also pull them out and use them is something less "mission critical"

but invert the color scheme and put it on a black shirt.

One thing which bothers me is how people just yank the old power indication LED out, since that thing actually would give you some good indication of whether the system was going to die soon or not.

the reasoning is two fold.

(1) space :: if the LED is still on the board the backlight module doesn't have enough room.
(2) power :: the backlight is actually powered from the old LED's posts.

yeah,
since the LED is gone there's no visible notification that the batteries are dying.
i personally have used my gameboy enough to gauge it's battery life, and just
change them periodically when i assume the time is right. with mine, nanoloop
will work until the DMG just shuts off. but my ems32 cart w/ LSDj will not boot
when the batteries are too low.

side note:
i have NOT noticed any change in battery life now that i have installed the backlight!

agreed!
way to go!
