I just started playing Blue again when I got my first modded DMG. Am I to understand that Gen 1 is full up? Would love to take a crack at some earthy stuff for Bulbasaur.

Or if this was open to non-starters, Ghastly/Haunter/Gengar

I think SunVox can do this, but I've never really had a reason to try

I dig where this thread is going. Maxo still does stuff. Friendly with him on the facebooks, doing a lot of cool multimedia projects/collabs

I believe FF6 is up on there already.

Yeah, myself and a few others around the globe have picked up the hobby of ripping samples from SNES roms and compiling them into soundfonts. Which takes a lot of time tuning, setting loop points, etc. but is worth it for the character of those sounds

If you look up SNES soundfonts on the googles there are plenty out there, and down to some pretty obscure games. A lot of these games use the same sounds as other games, so you can pretty much find whatever you're looking for in this format already. I would suggest using the method in this video only if there's straight up one exact sound you need to have from a game and know there's no way it's already out there. Cool that more people are getting into it though!

"Cool" as in the people who run it, "cool" as in the music they release, or "cool" for what they do for the "scene"?

Just wondering if there's any more accurate definition as to what this is trying to quantify?

hey guys remember that time when I asked this question and nobody could answer it because they hadn't actually thought about what they were tallying

one last time for emphasis because lol you really did not think about this even a little

If I'm not mistaken, Tommy Tallarico did those. He also did the Aladdin SNES soundtrack and it was actually pretty cool.

Sounds like it could be the AC adapter you're using isn't providing the right voltage or amps, or low batteries if the unit has them (not familiar with the Casio SA 21). I used to have that "crackle" at the end of the note on my old portatone keyboard when the batteries were getting low.

My bet is this. Sounds like a power problem.

Anyone say SNES EarthBound yet? Because that, to me, was really an apex of the SNES. The most instruments of any SNES game, too.

May not be as in-depth as you need, but the comparison of simple waveforms to those of complex acoustic instruments is something I like to talk about. Flutes and other woodwinds are actually pretty pure sine waves, a bowed string is a sawtooth wave while plucked is a sine with decay, there aren't really any good examples of square waves in nature (that I know of off the top of my head [at least not in sound?]) etc.

If you have access to these things and a wave visualizer of some sort it's a good time.
