It's interesting how you complain about me posting a lot in certain threads, when you do the same thing. Also Frostbyte was not even close to starting a trend. And there is no trend because only a couple people have done it and it's not like they did it all at once. Myself included. It's not my intention to double team you, it's just that it's not right for you to put this all on one person.

5- Notice that more than 50% of the replies are either by Frostbyte himself or Auxcide

Almost all of my replies were part of a discussion on 2xlsdj and my management of channels. Didn't bother anyone and I wasn't going to make a new thread. hmm

I think the problem is just George.
If you don't like me somebody, ignore the threads that are obviously their releases. Use ant1's code. Whatever. Pretty simple.
I'm not going to cater to yours our anyone else's tastes.

And those were different albums. You got your facts all wrong, gurl.

haters b hatin' cause dey weren't dere.
Also cause fans exist here.

Do you care about me??? sad

wasn't there already a sarcastic version of this thread

Chyeah.

I see like 2 'hype threads' in the release forum's front page.
Who is everyone complaining about? Is this all Frostbyte hate? His thread wasn't even in the release forum. Also that was old. So what started this?

Edit: just curious. Not really accusatory.

Release hype threads must be made into release threads. But that's also kind of hard because (as the case with me) some labels want to start a new thread. hmm

I do the above, post a preview song in the music section, soundcloud, noichan, ucollective. Plus all the updates I do on facebook and tumblr and mentions on here, I think I'm covered. It is nice to hear questions and stuff from people I know on here, but everyone's too grumpy. wink

I feel like this was all George's secret plan to get buzz.

GENIUS. smile

Also, I'm hyped for VCMG's release. It's really good, peoples.

So. . . Am I supposed to say 'cool' or something? Are we supposed to reply? Like I said, this is going to become cluttered with people replying to posts 7 posts behind. Also, no one's going to check this since it's going to be spam in 5 minutes.

OT: I'm working on something. My inner circle and the FrostyPosse know what I'm talking about.

Edit: Vince, what label?

stuff

I agree. When you put it that way it seems alot clearer. If you were to have a promotion thread what would be the line before it slipped into a hype thread?

I think an upcoming release thread would just fall into disarray. Too much clutter as people fall over posts trying to talk about releases.

spacetownsavior wrote:

hype should come from you having already released stuff that people liked. no one needs a thread specifically for hype; announcing that you're doing something should, if you're good enough, automatically hype people up. this place has a weird entitlement complex where all new musicians feel like they deserve just as much hype as people who've been doing this for years.

my first full-length got exactly 1 reply, and that's how it should have been.

Who hurt you? This is all so wrong. I don't see anyone expecting as much from giving a preview of what they sound like then the 'pros'. They don't need to hype because they're known, other people need a chance to showcase their sound.

So where should prerelease stuff go? Like preorders and stuff.

Curious, where would you want them to post these 'hype' threads? (If they were ever allowed) I believe it's legitimate if there's a release show or web show and it's posted in the upcoming events forum. Or if it's an artist I really enjoy.

(I know I created one a while ago, sue me.)

How about a "George's Playground" section? Then everyone can post what you like in there.

You're a meanie.

(This topic is worthy of another thread)
I write everything either on piano, microkorg, Yamaha sh101, or omnichord. My composition style changes depending on which one I'm on. If I'm sitting down at my setup I do some drum rhythm and chords in lsdj and compose off of that.

On the go, I have lsdj on my phone and a piano app. Or I can record stuff with the mic.

I'm going to try and really take my time with my next release. Sooo much to work with.
