This is my finished Porkchop (Porkboy? Still working out a name tongue) shell! I have yet to backlight it, and I'm on the lookout for some more pastely pink buttons...

GoingHam needs this for all the reasons.

The MMC pcb is the one under the Transfer Pak pcb. As for connecting it to the cart slot, all of the leads going to the cartridge pins on the MMC, there are very tiny holes in each trace with a very tiny amount of exposed copper around them. I have some wire that will fit in the holes and although it would probably be very difficult, I figured I would just have those thin wires connected to the holes and extended from the pcb about an inch, then attach thicker wires so they'll fit in the cart slot holes better. I haven't really made it to the MMC yet, so once I get there I'll figure it out I guess.

Wouldn't it just be easier to wire up the cart header pin holes in the bottom gameboy pcb directly to the 31 pins that normally make contact with the header instead of wiring to the header in the mmc? Then wire up a switch in a more convenient location in the shell instead of where it is located on the mmc.

At times like this, when inverted green isn't available, you could always order a normal green backlight then place a new layer of polarized film in the inverted position.

I actually botched the spray paint job on that cart. Pieces of it are grey and ugly looking and its starting to chip. It looks fine from the top though haha. Anybody know where I could get a replacement ems 64 shell?

One question, why do I need a DPDT switch to change the inversion when using a 74HC04 ic?, Why would not a SPST switch do the job?

I used a DPDT switch because I used the inverter made by Justin Thursday featured on Kitsch's site.
If you wanted to use a SPST switch then your going to need a 74HC86. More info on the 74HC86 here: http://blog.gg8.se/wordpress/2009/11/23 … d-palette/

Do you have a link or something I can use as a reference in order to understand how to connect the DPDT switch to the 74HC04 ic, basically I need to know how the connection goes?

I don't have any solid info on DPDT + 74HC04. I pretty sure its possible in theory, I'm no switch expert tough so I'd either recommend looking into the 74HC86 or purchasing the switchable inverter board: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/hex-switch-v1

Green inverted + 74hc04 = one of the best imho

Here is a comparison between normal, inverted, followed by biversion.

Just follow this thread, install the dpdt switch where the RCA jacks are shown there is more then enough room once PCB alterations are made.
Good luck

turtlesaur, if you want both your 1/8" and RCA to be prosounded it can be done without the need of the triple pro sounder.
If you desire to connect both outputs to pre-pot, then simply wire one source to the normal pre-pot spots on the potentiometer.
Connect the second source to these two solder points, there the leads that feed into the potentiometer so this prosound will also be pre-pot.

It would be wise to use the triple pro sounder if you wanted your outputs to be post-pot.
