theres not an easy convertor unfortunately. your best bet is to use a 'pre-rendered' YM.
if you can code, you might find VBL interrupt playback of the SNDH allows SainT to do a better job of rendering it.

gwEm and Natty advise you arrive early for this event considering the high quality of the acts.
Touchboy: http://www.myspace.com/touchboy improvised 8bit tech house from Canada
Natty: http://www.nattyadams.com new york 8bit dandyism
Sabrepulse: http://www.myspace.com/sabrepulse Nintendo junglestep that needs no introduction
gwEm: http://www.myspace.com/gw3m Atari rave STj B2B with Counter Reset and Amy Sayer

Exciting isn't it? Should be a good couple of evenings.
But making sample-based composing on the ST is kind of pointless. Other machines do it better.
unless of course you have an ST and don't want to spend further coin
Great Western STudios, 65 Alfred Road
Its as part of a dorkbot night. The presentations start at 1900, and the STj presentation will likely be last, around 2100 maybe?

try an Atari ST, its dead easy to load software on it - no need to build anything
well, its not 100% coded on steem, but maybe 80%. some of the falcon and ct60 specific stuff needed real hardware, and steem doesn't have features like microwire etc. ultimately you always need to test on the real stuff, because even a nice emu like steem isn't perfect
try lowering the volume using microwire commands and not the actual YM volume.
it seems to depend on the ste, some are bad sound quality and beyond hope, some are perfect all the time, and some need the volume reducing on the microwire.
i think its the 'u' tracker command - have a look on the online help anyway
its not quite true what dubmood says. its true after tos1.4 STs could format DOS compatible disks, but they could always read and write to them
