Wow, this is a really cool project. Have you run into any space issues?

You guys, having some sort of "test" or "initiation" is a really good way to stagnate a forum, plus it's kind of unfriendly hmm

If you wanted to start a club full of people you like, then start a club. It's really difficult and presumptive to decide who's ideas are useful and who's are not.

That being said, I think the idea for a user subscription based recent post feed has a lot of potential.

LSDJ for karaoke. The perfect crime.

I'd definitely be interested in an assembled board. It's something I'd like to have as a utility, but not necessarily anything I'd start as a project.

Will you be selling these before BRKfest?

It does seem to me that they are perhaps preying on ignorance to some degree. I wouldn't expect many musicians knowledgeable of chip culture to shell out ~$300 for a nicely manufactured Arduinoboy (let alone $3,800). I see the target audience for this being those who view "music on a gameboy" as a totally novel idea/function.
Even their original reference to LSDJ as a "tracker" program seemed to suggest you were getting something that didn't cost ~$5 elsewhere on the internet with a community of support.

That being said, it's difficult to attack their intention to profit from this project. Anybody who claims ownership and a right to profit from a modded piece of existing hardware is already walking in a fairly gray area. We are mostly protected by our obscurity. On the other hand, I don't think anybody would appreciate a design like the Arduinoboy being corporatized and mass-produced for profit somehow. These guys sort of walk the line.

All in all, I wish these guys well. If they can make a hefty sum of money from this project, I'm a bit jealous and perhaps a little sympathetic to the buyers. I know I would have been sorely tempted to buy one before I was familiar with chipmusic; it really is a very cool project.

tl:dr: It's a cool project, and it's difficult to condemn it on the grounds of ownership.

Oh boy, I feel like a real idiot. That was the problem. I read through the whole manual, and somehow I missed that -_-

Sorry to bother all of you with a dumb question like this; it really was right in front of me. You guys have been a huge help. Thanks so much!

I got mine recently and its beeen working fine.  The "Hello" screen gets jumbled all the time, but I figure it's just a recurring quirk.  Are you sure you are pressing start with the little NL logo?  Pressing anything else takes you to the empty banks, and if there isn't anything in them that might be what happens.

I've used the cartridge in around ~5 gameboys. It has fit into each console flush to the back like you said with one exception where it sits a little bit farther forward. I've taken the cartridge in and out several times, being sure to push it in fully, so I think it's been pushed down flat?

All of my gameboys are DMG's, but I borrowed a friend's GBC, and it seems to show the same issues.

Hey guys,

I've posted recently on another thread about this, but I didn't want to hijack it, because I suspect it's a separate issue from the one discussed there.

I got a Nanoloop cart from the most recent batch. It's running version 1.6.3. At first, it was working fine; about a week later, it started to occasionally start with a jumbled splash screen but would then start Nanoloop regularly. In the course of a few days it began to start jumbled more frequently and would occasionally make an error beep sound and start to a screen that looks like this "IOOOOO". These incidents began to be more frequent, and now it rarely ever starts correctly.

I've updated the cart to the most recent version, and I've tested it on all of my gameboys including modded and non-modded versions. It seems to update fine, but it starts so infrequently that it's totally unusable.

Has this happened to anybody else, or does anybody have any advice on dealing with it? Any help would be appreciated!

I'm actually having a really similar problem with my 1.6 cart. At first, it worked fine. It gradually began to start with the Hello screen jumbled and distorted and would sometimes then take me to the IOOOOOO screen. These bad startups began to increase in frequency to the point that it's no longer usable.

I've emailed Oliver. Hopefully, there'll be a response hmm

Yoops, this sort of throws a wrench in my teal gameboy plans tongue

Do you have any idea what new colors you'll be getting in?

Quint looks really nice. It's really tastefully done, design-wise. Do you have problems with the gameboy crashing?

i've found that using a loop pedal and live input devices like an aboy+a midi keyboard tends to make a great performance

I have a question about the transferer, but I didn't feel like it was necessary to start a new thread, so I hope somebody here can give me an answer.
Does anybody know of those Parallel Serial Port --> USB converters that you can find on amazon for like $10 work with the transferer II?

Ah, then I'll definitely be inverting my gameboys in the future; thanks everybody for clearing this up. Sorry for the long explanations!
