After your release I think I will code some utilities, for instance to dump instruments to a file, to merge an instrument into an existing song, things like that...

The code on google code seems untouched since 2011.
What library do you use for binary parsing?
I started to write such a tool as well, in python too.
For now it can parse a sav file, extract songs, and parse some song data...
I used my own parsing routines.
In fact I tried to 'describe' the binary format, in order to be able to parse AND to write data in that format.
I think I will be able to work on it during the following days, but I wanted to know if I could contribute to your project instead...
Do you have some recent code somewhere?

But if you send midi notes, say one per line, you don' t need the sync!
Because even if you are out of sync, you resync at every line so you have one chain that can be a bit out of sync, but no more

Yes, I tried this with ableton, I was able to control the song position by launching different clips.
But I think that it would be great to have a mode when the second GB follows the first one. This would easily allow 8 tracks songs to be played in live, and we could use a whole voice to send CC and program changes to external instruments...
What do you think?

Yes I imagined that a setup like this would work, but I only got one aboy at the moment so I couldn' t test...
With this setup, would there be a way for the second gameboy to 'follow' the first one?
For instance if the first one is in live mode, and that I choose to play a line again, is it possible for the cursor of the second one, to follow the first ?

I agree... I own a genmdm and the real hardware part does not seem complicated....
Do you think it would be possible to dump the genmdm rom and put it on an everdrive? (justy asking)

I've got an everdrive N8 and a retroduo clone.
PR8 is working for me on this setup.
I will try pulsar as well, and tell you precisely what happens.
The same for nestopia, I use the linux version.
You use the mac version right?
