Chip music is a gentleman's sport.
This video is going to go a long way in getting venues to book us, methinks.
Black Mario, anyone?
If anyone is interested in playing next year's show, please get in touch! There seems to be a lot of interest and I feel I may actually have to limit the number of performers this year even with the sundown to sunrise timeframe. This year's show went from about 10:00pm-4:00am which gives a couple hours on each end.
Cheers,
jeff
Yeah, this was a crazy necro.
On a related note, I always bring my netbook with my .sav backups so I can restore them if anything goes wrong. I suppose not everyone has a laptop they can bring with them. Perhaps building an arduino based device that could link a flash drive and a cartridge and restore data. Or an Atari ST program!

I'd be interested in (a) the compatibility of any music software and (b) the effect that the slowdown would have on the sound.
It's biggest flaw, the slowdown, could end up being a big draw for use as a musical tool.
Use LIVE mode to change things up a little.
Use the transpose.
Adjust the BPM.
Throw the sync mode into slave mode then back again to get a stutter effect.
If you bring a small mixer to use on stage, there's even more you can do.
Use the high, mid & low boost pots as a filters to pull all the high, mid or bass out for a bar or two. Swing the pan pots back and forth for stereo effects. Quickly tap the mute(s) to get a decimator type effect.
Iunno. There're plenty of things. You play guitar? Hook up an effect pedal or two.
Arisuki performs Candy Heart.
Dude! Mana Bar is an awesome place! How is it as a venue for a live show like this?

Who cares? You got the best crowd really. Much better if they don't know anything or have anything to do with "the community". MUCH better. As you say, you know that if they enjoyed it is because they dug teh music or experience. It's a very honest feedback!
Yeah, I'm quite pleased! We were all sincerely flattered.
It's also nice as something I can take to venues and say "see, the average person will love this stuff".
Amazing! Thats a gigantic crowd! Congrats on the amazing community of there.

Brilliant stuff. I'd love to see what he does with this. I think it could all be very useful and very neat.
I feel that when I invite musicians out next time there'll be a little less scoffing at my "stupid little outdoor busking gig".
