This was great. TrueStar was a lovely host, all the guests were great and the music was so eclectic and technical and bangin' and musically interesting :3.

This is so awesome. And this music is amazing. Always a treat with this Follin guy. It's neat to see this the stuff they were making back then outside of just games.

But I haven't really found anyone that makes chiptune other than myself.

but none of them are at all interested in trying to make it.

You know, maybe that's not such a horrible thing. You could be known as "that amiga/gameboy/nes/c64/whatever you use guy/girl" and use that to your advantage. Plus, not everyone who likes chipmusic has to make it (though it seems like a disproportionately large number of people who are really into it also produce it, lol). It's okay for fans to just be fans. If you write awesome stuff that touches the hearts of your listeners and is relevant to their personal experience then you will inspire more people to want to write it. They're not going start writing chipmusic just because it exists as a thing and you say "hey this is a thing".

I'd heard about Bit Puritans before, but I hadn't realized they were just going to be using 2a03. Wow, I'm looking forward to this. Noise Channel has good taste.

Like, guitar, bass, drums, melodica, and cello? Would it just be extremely low fidelity?

I picked up a copy of pocket music for gameboy color. Sampled instruments sound terrible.

Doesn't it take a bit more than just one sample to flat-out decide something is good or bad?

I have a flute sample ripped from Sound Club that sounds pretty decent. At least it is loud. They probably already were posted but little-scale has a huge collection of sample kits with instruments and stuff.

PanicPlant welcome! It is nice to see a fellow LMMS user. big_smile

There are many many chipmusic composing options out there, so feel free to branch out to wherever you want or just stay right at home :3.

Imagine playing cd quality .wavs on a Gameboy...

wax hardens when it cools.

It is suspicious that all your carts are leaking "wax". You should probably quit whatever deviant behavior you are engaging in with your carts and get professional help.

I might have downloaded it way back but I'm not sure... I'll check tomorrow on my other computer. No promises though.

Nice picture and poem but where is the music?

When I saw the topic title I thought you'd changed your band name to Tea Market big_smile

They are clearly going for the video game references. Avoiding them would be counter-intuitive.

Anywho, I'll have to check this out. It seems interesting.

I don't know if there is a way to incorporate what ahxtracker/hivelytracker does into a standalone amiga soundchip, but maybe take into consideration that AHX/THX/HVL is an Amiga softsynth module format that attempts to sound like the C64 SID chip.

I don't know the details of how the sound is generated in an AHX module or how applicable the existence of this Amiga music format is to your situation/goal, but I hope it somehow helps you to know that there is a Software Synthesizer music format for Amiga.

@Feryl: I usually keep my android's volume down below 40% during casual listening (unless I'm in a loud car or something). usually 3-5 clicks up from "muted". I'm pretty careful with what I subject my ears to for the most part. It's a bit hard for me to keep track of the volume level of my computer because the knob is missing the dot that shows how high I've turned it up. Anyway, since I had the problem I've taken more precautions so it hasn't turned up again since last year when I first got into the lsdj stuffs.

@Jefftheworld: It's not my noise channel only music. The two tracks were made by two other people. There's a thread about it somewhere. I think it was "how does the noise channel work" or something.

@chunter: Your hypersensitivity after that concert sounds a lot like what happened with me. Thank you for sharing.

And thanks everyone for your responses they have been most helpful. I feel like I may have made this thread before...

You probably already know this but "8bit music" isn't even 8bits. The labeling of a console as "8-bit" isn't in reference to the "soundchip" output. Unless you are talking like an 8bit module sample or something.
