There are two filters on the A500/600. One you can toggle (ground that shit to remove the possibility of it ever turning on) and the other filter removes all the high end for some ridiculous reason. The A1200 doesn't have the second, permanent filter. Regardless, both filters are completely worthless so I remove that part of the circuit and connect the audio out much closer to Paula.

I disagree. This is the first thing I remove when modding. That filter is terrible.

Don't listen to them. Anything is possible. I'd personally love to see a standalone Paula sampler w/ musicline engine. Actually doing it is another thing completely.

Didn't someone mention controlling a SID via a similar method once?

I tried NTRQ/PR8/Pulsar on eproms using donor carts many times with zero success. It would launch/crash, similar to what you described. I never actually figured out why it wouldn't work (sold off all related equipment in a bout of frustration) but I was later told it had to do with the access speed, even though I used the same parts others used in working setups.

Point being, yes this has happened to me several times and I was thinking of buying an everdrive to avoid the headache. Looks like I'll wait.

Does PR8 work at least?

Perhaps the access times are too fast?

Do I even know what I am talking about?

Bump.

Is the N8 compatible with the Baldwin suite? Anyone?

You are going to need the obligatory Budweiser/mid-80's bikini girl poster. Or blown up wall-sized schematics of a c64. Either one.

You're just a fat bearded cunt with an attitude problem and I would take great pleasure in carving your face off with a dull knife. That, is overreaction. See the difference?

For posterity.

@saskrotch - I don't see this thread as overreaction as much as I see it as self-validation. See the difference?

fwiw Inversion Of The Goober Reboots was my chip-highlight many lifetimes ago. 2003 was a prime year for chip imho. Rolling stone? Oh yes.

In all seriousness though, this is fantastic and a 555 re-release would be even FANTASTICER.

Is this the year of Bit Shifter? I THINK IT MIGHT BE.

For those who don't get it. It was a dick joke.
