- People who don't tag their releases properly. Sure, all the MP3s are in a folder, but when I import them to iTunes I get a jumbled mess or no info at all. Great, now I don't even know who made this song. Happens with stuff uploaded to 8bc / chipmusic.org too. Just remember: ID3 tags are just as much a place for marketing / promoting yourself / building your brand as anywhere else.

This..so much

Datapop 3.0: 2 days of great performances. Shame I didn't get to hang more but it was worth all the confusion. Big ups to Seanbad and IAYD, you guys rule.
The various streams of chip shows on the web.
getting into piggy tracker
doing business with the mist toggles <--awesome dude
Reformat The Planet finally being released on DVD

Release wise, it was Jellica's and AMU's 8bp releases. Everything RG put out this year. Ovenrake's releases. AGM's EP, L-Tron's album, JDDJ3J/CIAM  and Kris Keyser cheese'n'beer releases. And everything on Handheld Heroes

Then again, this is all a bit mushy, no?

EDIT: Forgot to mention Reteris.

Make up a CD with a variety of music, not just chip tunes or electronic music, then play that on a bunch of different speakers.

I don't if the music stores here would like this, but I can sure try.

My budget is about $300 considering I'm pretty broke at this point.

But vgx has some very good advice.

I plan on just having 'them' sit at home and providing me the sense of what my music sounds live.

My amp is a production tool, not a live performance tool.

It's an Alesis Sumo 150 keyboard amp that I used to use back in my synth-playing days.

Connection-wise, I just plugged the main outs from my mixer to to Left and Right in the amp.

I mainly use the amp to write music so I know how it sounds at high volume, but when I did jam with others I would just plug into the back; no mixer.
