Ah, thanks man!

I enjoy making kits too much, I'll slap a couple together if I find the samples that make me nostalgic for DDR.

I believe the main point of 4mat's comment is to assert that much of chiptune as a scene and a culture is digressing into self-referential and stagnant groupthink, and is no longer producing original music or ideas. sad

Reading that 4mat post made me realize the error of my ways and confront my failures as a man.

Whoah. yikes

Edit: I just played with that, and I'm too far out of the loop to get it together.

It looks like platypus just compiles a nice graphical executable from a bundle of scripts. EMSFlasher is written in C, so I'm not finding an easy way to roll it up with Platypus.

IT'S LIKE SUNSHINE ON A CLOUDY DAY!

EDIT: This one's actually not in there… sad

I'm looking for a sample of that, maybe I'll make one extra kit…

So.... Where should I go then? EFnet.

Depending on the complexity of your IRC client, you can configure it to automatically execute commands or join channels for you. EFNet is the oldest IRC network, so it doesn't have many of the server-side features newer ones like Esper.net have--you won't have to worry about ChanServ or NickServ or anything.

Anyway, if you look on EFNet's server list, you can pick one of those that is geographically closer to you and has a feature set you like. For instance, I changed from irc.blessed.net to irc.paraphysics.net because it's close to me and offers SSL.

You'll connect to the same IRC network with the same users and channels no matter which one you choose.

I finally got around to finishing the paint job on the newer keyboard.

Here's the bad boy:

I experimented with some new ways to paint the body and the keycaps in this one, to mixed effect. I ended up getting a gross and uneven thick coat of paint on the red ones, but the others all came out great. I've learned from that.

blessed.net is a specific EFNet server, apparently.

I don't know where I got that URL first.

Firstly I'd like to take into account that I have absolutely no experience or knowledge of the 'Gameboy Pocket'. Despite that I'd assume their fairly similar, so hopefully there will be something of use to you in this post.

The game boy pocket is a lot closer to the game boy color from a circuit board layout perspective. I don't know much about them either, though. hmm

See you there. smile

I really hate my own music, along with most of my other creative output.

I'd say a good summary of my artistic output and life right now is the ongoing process of keeping perfectionism in check long enough to make something imperfect and learn from it.
