Yeah you are now dreaming or in a coma or anything...
The one and only gwEm just released a new major version of MaxYMiser (the first in nearly 6 years) and changed MaxYMiser Live to MaxYMiser High. Why ? Because as you can see on my thread title it is now supporting Hi-Res monitors (like the SM124, SM125 or VGA adaptor for ST/STe) !
But wait there's more...
For people like me who love to abuse the tracker with a lot of digis and then sync it with a sequencer or a drum machine in MIDI, you can now adjust a MIDI latency in the option (so I can now use my STe like which was impossible since the tracker started to scroll nearly 1 second after my electribe).
Here is a little video made by THE MAN to show you the new features of his baby !

Enjoy and Keep it /|\ smile

Holy damn Peter, it is so awesome that you continue your work on your editor for ST ! Any plan for release so I can finally try it after drolling on that video of yours I saw nearly 10 years ago ?!
The other tracker looks neat ! Do you know how they managed to cram that much channels on the YM2149+DMA ?
Oh btw I highly suggest you to make your own thread for your tracker updates. It will be easier for us to see your updates on this beast and this thread was made to announce the release of Checktrakk tracker ! smile

Thx XyNo.
and sorry for hijack this thread.

yes he is using both ym2149 and the dma, 3 ym channal, 3 dma, and 1 dma drums.

my player is just a side project that i work on just for fun, but if it get finish, i do think i will release it, but there is still a very long way to go.
it is much broader work than I expected, it is more or less a complete rework of the program.
and this time i need to be done right smile
so therefor i think, that i will wait before i do a new thread to its more complete big_smile

4 DMA tracks !!! This is mindblowing ! yikes
Can't wait to have more know from you my friend !
Keep it /|\

There is no mute groups in the mpx8. For drumpadding, it's bad for the high-hats but since you just want to throw vocal samples, go for it !

Just red the entire topic and it was a good read !

chiptune so isn't dead, but the coverage / documentation / journalism of chiptune kinda sucks, and that's why everyone thinks nothing new is happening.
the last thing that i felt truly encapsulated everything that was going on with the chip scene is STILL the reformat the planet documentary (though one could argue that was more a natural side effect of blipfest itself being intentionally cross-sectional with its curation).  even 8bc's top 3 tracks feature implicitly reflected the trends of the time, so you could check it out every week and theorize about where the artform / scene is heading.

but anyway there used to be more central, authoritative sources that the whole scene could use to get a convenient slice of the scene at large.  That WeeklyTreats project (1 song by a different chip artist every week of the year) was pretty nice because it included interviews that also conveyed the featured artist's insights on the scene itself.  goto80's chipflip blogposts were great too because of his perspective as a historian.  aaand of course TCTD

nowadays, to get a sense of the scene at large:
- there's chipwin, which imho has a long way to go in terms of the quality of its written content, and overall has a very low signal-to-noise ratio
- you get what you can from chatter in various chip discords
- you go to chip shows / festivals in person and hope that the organizers are able to curate based on "what's happening right now" instead of "who can we get that's convenient"

btw that Latin American chip bandcamp article is great because it seems to reflect a real, mature effort to take a cross-sectional look at the current state of things, albeit a particular subculture of the chipscene itself.  more of that please.

Bryface my man ! Those words of yours I quote...High five dude !
I think the problem with ChipWin is the majority of their users only cares about le gameboy LSDJ/Nanoloops (and sometimes famitracker and a little bit of deflemask) so the kind of awesome news I want to see on this page got 0 to max 3 likes and gets easily buried by shitloads of WIPs videos and stuff !
...and Holy s**et I miss TCTD ! sad
