out of question, I'm running LSDj on my psp, is the keyboard and MIDI capability still functional? Could I plug a keyboard into my psp and jam away?

Last time I tried a gb emulator on psp, I hated it because some sounds (on WAV channel I think) were totally disgusting...nmever tried it again !!!

I've kept every single track I've ever produced. All the tracking done before I got an actual studio with real software, all the 'serious' music, and even jams and weird recordings done on the fly for no reason.

I even still have my first tracker song... circa 1989 on Sound Tracker!

But everything I wrote after like.. 1995-6, I'm okay with. There's even a good number of these songs I'm still very proud of. Sometimes I listen to them and go "damn.. that was good. I should totally remix that". And of course, I never do.

1989 !!! yikes
This is why your stuffs sounds so old-school chip (one of my favorite branch in chipmusic !!!)

...back to the subject...It depends. I love some of my old tracks but most of these are so dumb imo...always feels like it is missing a little something in it !!!
...and there is still people asking me to play my first LSDJ, Creatures with Glasses !!! :S (I hate it lol)

Avoid to downgrade it to 1.5...Totally useless nowadays !!!
Go update your firmware to original 6.20, Get Pro-C put the folders in your psp (psp/game), run it and after this install the perma-patch !
Et voila !!!

So firmware is now 6.20 and I downloaded the pro c for it. What folder exactly goes into my gamefile of the psp, I want to know for sure before I goof!

Be sure to have downloaded pro-c for 6.20 after this put it in X:\PSP\GAME the folder are Update and Permapatch (or something like this) if I remember well !!! Once the folder are moved into your psp load update and after this your patch really easy to do !!!

Oh yeah btw if one of you want to get a new psp for this...highly suggest you a psp2000 and over because there is 64mb of ram instead of 32 !
Hope I help you a little ! wink

you need custom firmware to run anything without the UMD

I know sad I just want 1.5 downgrade so bad so I can play homebrews, but I got annoyed with myself not finding out how to downgrade/debrick and all that good shit. In the end I just want to bang my psp like a drum set until it shatters everywhere

Avoid to downgrade it to 1.5...Totally useless nowadays !!!

That's a valid point. I suppose one could say that those operating systems are similar enough to full-on modern PC operating systems that they don't need to be considered differently. That said, the end user experience is typically very different and it favors different creative processes. I haven't gotten to play with the MilkyTracker port for Android. Do you use a keyboard to track in it?

Regardless, I just wanted to discuss whether or not those platforms might merit their own discussion area.

I was actually trying to agree with you! As for tracking, you could get by without a keyboard but the mouse is awful. You really do need a mouse. Well I'm on a nexus 4 but maybe if you were on a tablet you could get by.

I think android has a ton of untapped potential for music apps. Its kind of frustrating I guess, but if you want to be artsy you need apple products. Or so I'm told.

I red somewhere that android got horrible audio latency !
