Yup 4MB is the max you can put in a STe !
Be sure to check out trackers like XLR8, TripleX and my little favorite, Musicmon 2.5e !!!
Satandisk/Ultrasatan are cool but reaaaaally expensive (around 150$ for it + 50$ for HDDriver if you want TOS/DOS partitions on your SD card !!!) and yeah the are external and need external power ! (and cant be used in Atari Falcon) :S

I played with it a little bit on my imac, its good but it's not really comfortable on a qwerty keyboard !
Edit : I love how you can open the page you want in it and place it where you want on the screen...got a lot of different ways to play with this tracker !!! !!!
