This how I have it wired. This is looking at the male end of the plugs. I moved the green wire from top right to top left.

As it is now the Arduinoboy will only power up using external power so I assume the 5v pin swap was done incorrectly. What about the status leds not lighting up beyond power up?

Okay so I bought the Xiwi  Arduinoboy from kitsch and modded a DMG-04 Cable. When I plug the Arduinoboy in all leds flash then nothing. No other leds light up beyond the power up. I did the trash 80 pin swap to get the 5v. Was that necessary? Also the backlight on the Dmg lights up even when off. I'm sure there's is more info everyone will need to answer these questions but I didn't want to give out useless info. Yes, I used the search function but there's so much buried in these forums it might be faster just to ask again. Please and thank you.

Awesome. Seems simple enough. I was really dreading going in and changing all those commands.

I basically have that exact mixer. The mono inputs are the first two?

In two weeks I will be playing live for the first time. I have noticed that running stereo can sometimes be a nightmare and a lot of threads in this forum suggest having a mono mix for live shows. My question is simply..

Do I need to make a new .sav with all "O" commands removed as well as all instruments LR?

Do I put all channels on the song screen to LLLL?

Please and thank you.

Awesome. It's really encouraging to hear you were looking forward to new material. I can't wait to put it out. Been working on it for a few years. 9 tracks. Should be fun.

I agree. It does come out much brighter in headphones. I usually do "car check" when we mix things. Thats mainly when I listen to music loud. Thought it sounded good in the car but yes more low end wouldn't hurt. Glad you like the track!

Here is a rough mix of the first track on my first record. I've been lurking on these forums for years and have learned a lot from a lot of you. Thank you for all your help. This record wouldn't of been possible without this community. Lemme know what you think.

Hey, I'd be glad to help out with this. So, first things first, you're using the DMG-04. The problem with this cable is that it does not contain all the necessary pins. You need to perform what's called the "pin swap" by trash80. Basically, you have pins 1,2,3, and 6 in the DMG cable. However, pins 1,3,5, and 6 are required. Meaning you have to move pin 2 to the pin 5 position. Pin 5 is clock, which is needed to sync with the keyboard.

DMG-04 Cable:
/-----------------\
|   1    3    5   |
|   2    4    6   |
-------------------

Now that you have that out of the way, you need to connect the right cables.

 Pin #
GB  PS/2  description
1     4    +5V/DCC
3     1     DATA/Serial In
5     5     Clock
6     3     Ground

You need to know exactly which wire in the ps/2 go to what pin in the connector. If zii.hrs is correct, then it is very easy. Unfortunately not all PS/2 keyboards are created equally, so they may not be exactly the same. If you have no multimeter, or continuity tester, then you will have to take a leap of faith and just do it according to the above schematic. Or, some keyboards will have the connector on the board labeled so you could use that.

DMG-04      Keyboard
Orange  ->  Red
Black   ->  White
Green   ->  Green
Blue    ->  Yellow

I got some of this information from xero's blog, and the LSDj wiki. Hope this helps! let me know if you need more help. I've messed around with these a lot.

I just attempted the trash80 pin swap. I pulled the blue wire/pin out and put it in the only open slot on the opposite side of the housing. The side with the angled edges. It was very simple to do but reading kuzimoto's pin diagram makes me second guess myself. From my understanding of the diagram I just moved 6 to 1 instead of 2 to 5. According to trash80's guide I did it correctly. Any thoughts/advice? As a side note, I do not have a PS2 keyboard yet. Got home from work and the DMG04 was in the mail. Was eager to start. Keyboard shopping this weekend.

Love all these videos. I would like to make a request. I would love to see you show how all this is done live. Like what gear is making what sounds. I see in some videos you have a lot of stuff on your keyboard stand and I'm trying to wrap my mind around what all of it does or how it's implemented. I am a similar style chip musician that plays guitar and I'm new to a lot of the electronic side of things. Just trying to educate myself on how to make complex orchestrations completely solo in a live scenario. Keep em comin!

Did some searching and didn't really find anything. Has anyone tried the derp cart with windows 10? Finally ordered one and I would love to use my laptop for backups and such. Just wanted to know if I should dust off the tower.

I just bought myself a microkorg and I want to know how I can incorporate the gameboy. More specifically, what mods do I need to do homework on. I'm sure there is plenty it can do together but I would like to know a good place to start.

I haven't seen anyone post about this. Thought I would give a heads up!

Decided to start recording the stuff i've been working on. I would love some feedback. This is just a ruff mix.
