I've re-levelled all platforms and issued a new ghetto. No big changes, it's a merge of many bug fixes.

PS: Don't use this thread in the hope of sending me bug report. Although I lurk here, I don't want to have 3000 locations to grab bits & pieces big_smile

Just to be complete:

The config.xml *also* used to override the default key mapping (see all the KEY_xxx). Mapping.xml is suited to 'add' new button/controller to the default control settings.

So for example you got 'a' and 'b' mapped. If you want to replace 'a' by 'x', use the config.xml. If you want both 'a' and 'x' to do the same, add an entry in mapping.xml

config.xml for changing the colors on the screen and mapping.xml for changing button functions.  For PSP they both go in the root lgpt folder where the eboot is (I believe).

Mapping file instructions: http://wiki.littlegptracker.com/doku.ph … pt:mapping

You can do it!  It's really not difficult if you look at the examples on the wiki.

What i was hoping for was a precise stop that would give a render that is exactly x phrases long so i could easily beatchop it. I doubt my reflexes are good enough. wink

If you put your renders in a DAW and set the tempo to the same value as the piggy, boundaries will be sample accurate and you can chop without even looking at the waveform. Since the start is proper, you don't really care about where it ends.

How do you power the lcd ? via a separate supply ? usb ? I'm looking for a cheap way to add a lcd to the rpi.

It all depends on the unit's memory. The bigger sample, the less chance you will have to find a contiguous memory chunk to hold it. So you might load a bit more if you cut the big sample in smaller parts. There is no 'built in' limit in the piggy nor any deterministic way to know how much will fit it

curious if there would be any reason why piggy would fail to run on rasbian, the raspberry pi optimized build of debian linux. I think it'd be pretty rad to build a dedicated piggy tracker R-pi. What with the customization options and ability to add components to the Rpi, it could turn out pretty rad. and cheaper than a dingoo/caanoo/psp.

It does runs on rasbian....

Last build is over here (although I haven't tested it yet)

In pure technical terms you are not wasting space. Especially for oscillators, 96Khz might be a good thing.

In terms of end result though, you will have to see what you do with those and if your music has relevance toward the subtle difference between 96 and 44.1

Cons on PSP misses 'you need to crack it'
Dingoo cons misses 'when it locks you need a needle or you'll loose all battery power
First dingoo line has a typo. Throw 'it' instead of is

Otherwise good summary and alltogether excellent idea

Maybe add a moar specific platform entry in dafaq ?

Fuck, it feels like I've posted this here like 10 times. I'll have to start a thread in the subforum when I get a chance.

No, none of those will work. There are only 2 machines that will run dingux:

The Game King PSP-Looking A-330 and The Old Tried and True a320

NO OTHER VARIANTS WITH OTHER LETTERS OR NUMBERS OR LOOKS OR WHATEVER WILL WORK.

Kind of old school terminal style. Very readable.

I would do like herr_prof said: re-install the image. Don't bother importing anything from debian (i.e. the lgpt_DEB stuff). Simply take again the last version and try to run it from there. Note that the file size of the current version is different from what you have

pi@raspberrypi ~/lgpt/projects $ ls -l lgpt.rpi-exe
-rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 773568 Oct  5 10:36 lgpt.rpi-exe

If you end up with  a different file size, maybe you transfered it to the rpi with FTP and forgot to specify 'binary' transfer ?

Good luck.

Jack should not be needed, only sdl & asla. And I guess the runtime version should be there by default.

If the system says "./lgpt.rpi-exe: No such file or directory" that means the exe is not at that place.

Even though I agree with herr_prof about running it in console, there is no problem to run it from Xwindows either. Can you make sure you are in the folder where the file "lgpt.rpi-exe" is before invoking the command.

If it is the right folder, please do

ls -l

and dump the output here

@pulselooper et al. OD guys. In theory amixer can be used without the ui to setup the parameters.. so it should be possible to set your mixer settings from within a lgpt starting script. I'll give it a wirl
