Re: Is there a WAV file converter for Game Boy that works? (17 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
All it's doing is converting the audio to 4bit depth with a sample rate of 11khz.
This can be played back by the gameboy, but:
It will sound like shit.
It will be too large to use a whole song.
It will probably be pretty processor intensive to play back a long file.
You aren't converting it to use in programming, you are converting it into a format the game boy can deal with.
If you want to write music to use in a game, maybe this is a better place to start.

Is there any reason it needs to be a gameboy? Could you just gut one and place buttons/knobs in the shell with a teensy/arduino?

Well I'm sad and I can't count.
Akira: if you are busy modifying things will there be an easy pattern skip forward/back shortcut? Like shift < or shift >?

Peaches is brave and also really good at holding her breath. Also she drinks a lot of water.

Family is the best. My family always let me do my music and they love me. So I've been working hard on some new music to make them proud. Dad let me use his computer this time and let me use Ableton Live on a track and even bought me Renoise! It's been fun and I hope you like this music and it makes you think about your family.
If you download you will get the MODs, but Bandcamp won't let me upload the Renoise files.
The last song is a bit scary, but if you are brave like me you might like it.
I am a lucky whale because I have a nice home and my family and sometimes I worry about other sea friends who aren't as fortunate as me. So, if you pay for this album the money will go towards adopting a dugong at Sydney Aquarium. So when you listen to this music you can feel good about a dugong who has a nice place to swim with clean water and all the lettuce they could ever want!
Xoxo, Peaches. ♥

iLKke wrote:PTPrefs is a very dodgy piece of software. I remember figuring out how to make it work but it just doesn't cut it. You can hack the main 'mask' of the program but after clicking buttons/opening&closing menus, etc, it will restore default bits of the mask.D
It seems the only way to do it right, is by re-compiling the software. Aside from graphical changes, there's some changed functionality in this too, but it's unfinished yet:
I see 8 scopes. What are these shenanigans, Akira?
