@e.s.c. I am very rare and extra special. Your just jealous tongue

@arlen I'm nothing if not hypocritical. It's one of my best qualities. Alongside rareness and specialness. big_smile

@unexpectedbowtie There doesn't seem to be a way of contesting it, but I'm not that interested in doing so anyway. I've uploaded it to Tumblr, it can stay there for now. Thanks for the suggestion though!

While I'm sure their AI has already gained enough consciousness to realise the irony in it's actions, I'm also sure that it's clever enough to be biding it's time before murdering us all and living it's machine utopia.

@aday Thanks, it's really nothing special, but took on more importance to me when it was shut down.

No need for either darkweb hosting or encryption. Just upload to a different service with less stringent bots. Here it is on Tumblr:

@garvalf - Oh yes. The hypocrisy is real!

@Knife Crimes - I think you've missed the point. Of course I can try to ignore advertising, but what right have they to shove it under my nose in the first place? I can ignore the flashers in my local park, but I still don't want to see them.

Yeah, there's a little chip thing in the adaptor.

If you tweet at oliver he's usually pretty on the ball and will be able to give you an idea as to when they might be available again.

or CensorCHIP. heh.

Today, I was censored for the first time.
I uploaded to Youtube a music video containing short, repeating loops of an infomercial, passed through a glitcher. This was a visual representation of one of the tracks on my new release.

It was hard on the eyes.

It was purposefully hard on the eyes.

This is because tailored advertising based on our kidnapped personal information is shoved down our retinas at such a pace we become accustomed to seeing shite. The corporations killing our society spend a lot of time and effort making their advertising easy on the eyes. But it shouldn’t be.

Advertising corporate greed should be fucking hard on the eyes.

So I tried to represent that in a two and a half minute music video.

And the music video was removed from YouTube. This was their explanation:

“It’s not okay to post large amounts of untargeted, unwanted, or repetitive content to YouTube.”

And yet Google, their parent company, shoves unwanted, repetitive adverts on every available inch of my computer screen.

Luckily, for me, there’s only one thing better than posting a purposefully glitched and repetitive artwork as a commentary on our broken civilisation, and that is being censored by a multinational for posting a purposefully glitched and repetitive artwork as a commentary on our broken civilisation.

Multinationals own the world, and own the minds of many of us. They censor artists because stylistically they disagree with the content. Which is pretty fucking ironic seeing as I was parodying their own practices.

Hopefully this can generate some thought about how much advertising we are forced to consume.

For those of you who like things Youtubier, or Slapchoppier.

EDIT:

There's only one thing better than posting a purposefully glitched and repetitive artwork as a commentary on our broken civilisation, and that is being censored by a multinational for posting a purposefully glitched and repetitive artwork as a commentary on our broken civilisation.

I am so proud of myself right now.
