Dear Oliver, I have not found a thread which talk about this, so I open a new one.

On the sync side, without a sync cable.
I'd like to have Select+Left decrease the bpm slightly when press in every menu, then go back to normal bpm when release.
Select+Right increase the bpm slightly then to back to normal bpm when release.

Like elektron box.
It will allow to sync more easily with other hardware when you don't want to stick with midi/pulse sync.
It's easier than to go to bpm menu and try to do the same.

Do you like working with the first version ?
Or is it just collecting stuff becauqe you like this soft ?

Fucking genious smile

yeah the ds lite has better sound.... really...
It's a pleasure to play with smile
The original ds is good too

I have allways use the gba sp, only few time the ds lite.
But IMHO nanoloop on gba sp sync well with other gba sp, you won't have drift between two 2.x on gba sp. And yes on some gba sp you have some hiss, and if you use the sync cable you will have more hiss.
So for me the sync cable is not usable....
If you sync gba sp manually, so you use the A+B on the bpm menu to stop them, then start at the same time, you will have good sync.
For me they stay in sync really well over time for the 2.x version.
it's the only way to have good sound and use your other gears to manual sync, and for me it works, not great but for a track it's really enough.
Elektron gears are good for this kind of manual sync with left, right arrow, you put your elektron on master sync, and all your gear slave to the elektron.

EDiT: it should be the same for the DS lite, you sync with A+B two ds lite with nanoloop 2.7.x, then you sync your elektron gears to this manually. Best sound I think, and good think over time, need to double test this, but it should be the best clear sound and synx over time.

Hi veclock,

If you want to use your tablet as a midi controller, so it will allow you to send 'note on', 'note off' and 'cc' message, you should read a bit about midi protocol and then try to send midi message from your tablet.

Unfortunately I don't know a free one, maybe touchdaw free on android do the tricks, you just need to send basic note on note off to start. Then receive the midi message with for example midiox on windows.

It will help you to understand the midi protocol better.
And the average latency you can expect from your tablet.

Then you can write native code or java code, it depend on your way to work software.

From what I've seen, syncing nanoloop 2.7 on gba sp mix the sync signal with the audio.
Same problem on nanoloop mono....
The sound of nanoloop mono is great without hiss on my dmg and same thing on my gba sp with nanoloop 2.7...
I've try direct sync between gba sp and dmg, and a arduinoboy and a lsdjmc2....
Nothing was able to remove completely the sync signal.

If someone has a tricks which remove completely the sync signal I take it. I remember someone talk about magnet around cable.... I have not try it.

Today I've found the tricks which works for me.
I only use one nanoloop version and I use my elektron gears or my electribe e2 which are good to be sync 'manualy' to nanoloop.

So in the end, for me, sync is not really a good option today, you will have garbage in the audio signal....

EDIT: the good thing is nanoloop 2.7 can run at the same speed as nanoloop mono, they stay sync for more than five minute, so.... it's not really an issue for me.

For the moment I work on the lgpt sampler integration and audiality 2 port.
This two synthengine are cpu friendly.
Every one here know lgpt, I just cut and paste the sampler synthengine not more, then will work on table which need big integration.
Audiality 2 is a synth engine from David Olofson, a really smart guy which create some really well made program. Audiality 2 sound really cool, and is cpu friendly too, it's remind me the snes for some kind of sound. Should work psp, ps vita, for lgpt i'm sure, need to see for audiality 2.

http://www.audiality.org/sounds/index.php

So if someone is able to try to port picoloop to osx. He is welcome. I don't own a osx os. It's not a really difficult task, but you need to have basic knowledge of compilation with g++.
you just need to try to start from Makefile.Patternplayer_raspi1
Obviously I can help here deceiphiering the big error.

I'd like to see one day a snes tracker : this console sound really really well, it was for me with the genesis the best game track I had ever heard.
Maybe the genesis tracker will be available one day...
Thoses master system, game gear, I don't remeber great tune on it... The sound chip is not Waooo.

@psynaptik : It won't be available on gb gba.
Nanoloop is really the thing for gb/gba.
If you'd like to sync them, I will try to bring usb midi in the near future for ps vita and psp.

@Jalex : today there is a multiple of 6 tick per step. So you can play at 6,12,24,48 tick per step.
If I understand you want this number of tick to be configurable per track. for example 4 tick per step. Mhhh, should be not hard to do.
It will allow to mix different time signature.
So yes, I should try to do it

Great, I have sent the right VPK file smile
You will have to wait a bit for update but I can give you support on actual feature.

1) LPB, could you describe what is behind this word ? If you mean LPF, there is one which use ADSR in PBSynth, see point 2.

2) I will describe the filter :
Picosynth, Picodrum, OPL2 ( you can choose them on MAC menu ) use the standard filter :
- NOFL does nothing, it doesn't filter at all ;
- BIQUAD contain a BP, LP, HP filter, so three different filter ;
- AMST contain only a LP ( you can set other value it does nothing, only LP, I need to fix that )

This NOFL, BIQUAD, AMST can be tuned by a Cutoff and a Resonance in the FLTR menu.
THERE IS NO ADSR for this filter on picosynth, picodrum, opl2.
Only a amp ADSR for this 3 engine. So it is only static filtering.

There is a synthengine name PBSynth in MAC menu, which has 2xADSR, the first one is a amp ADSR. The second one is a filter ADSR. To trigger the two ADSR, you need to create long note, so you need, to use "AMP T/N" in ENV. To try it, just put a note in step 0, then increase T/N at 75%. The X value is "synth volume", the Y value it "hold time". You will begin to hear the sound is longer. Then move to VCO, there is a ENVDEPTH parameter there if you press triangle.
Change the ENVDEPTH to 25%. Then change the Cutoff Resonance. Then go back to ENV, then change the FLT A/R you will see you are able to change the attack release of the filter. But you need to modify the ENVDEPTH to see it.

Today on psvita, PBSynth is the only synth which has 2xADSR, and it has only one LPF filter, no bandpass or highpass filter.

Filtering use lots of cpu and ps vita is more powerfull than the psp, but ps vita is available for only one week, I have noy work a lot on it, so i have not found synthengine which can play well on this platform today. Maybe the "sid" engine will works smoothly, but I can not tell before I double check it...

No problem with your funny english smile

Thank you Jalex !

1) bpm : I have not make big change on this, enter the menu BPM then X+UP increase by one, X+DOWN decrease by one.
then press TRIANGLE ( it's an alias for START on ps vita ), you can change the SWING and the DIV ( which is the step length).
just double check when you are enter in bpm menu that you are able to change swing and bpm. Should work. Or I may have post the wrong VPK file... It's possible i had made a mistake on this...
It's working on my ps vita, so I'm a bit worried with the file I have put on the internet....

There seem to be a regression on this release on the PBSynth synth engine which does not work on track 0, I will need to double check. Yesterday night I had an issue with it... Today not, so there is a thing to double check. which is weird...

2) now if you are outside of a menu you can change the submenu with X+Left or X+Right

UPDATE

1) For the X key to delete note will see if it is better, I will tell you. But seem to be better yes.

2) For the parameter lock, it could be great to do it like you describe and will change the color of the LOCKED parameter. There is some addon to bring in the file format to be able to lock them, so there will be some wait before it is available. This feature need to be done rightly. expect some time before it is available.

For the "sequencer in the sequencer", I will add what we call here "table". It is a matrix which will allow to change lot's of different parameter in a step.
google "lsdj table" and you will understand what it is.
Look at 'lgpt' or 'lsdj' and you will understand what it is.
It will allow arpegiato, change osc really fast for the same trig.
This is planned, but this one is a big change, will have to wait before it is 'released'.
It will need another file to store this table. But will be really usefull smile Believe me it will bring really more !

Have you try polyrithmic ?
Go to PSH and don't enter the menu.
Press O+LEFT it will remove one step each time.

Have fun wink

Here is a new vpk 0.76b which contain :
- polyrythmic addon
- more than 16 step, from 2 step to 128 step per track
Here is the howto :
- cursor on BPM : X+O stop the sequencer
- cursor on BPM : O+Triangle start the sequencer
- cursor on PSH (plen) : O+UP add 16 step, O+DOWN Remove 16 step, O+Right add 1 step, O+Left remove 1 step
- cursor on PSH (pshift) : O+UP or O+RIGHT shift 16 step right, O+DOWN or O+LEFT, shift 16 step left
- from anywhere if you have more than 16 step ( example 64 step ), LTRIGGER or RTRIGGER move from step0 to step16, to Step32 to step48....
- change submenu if you are outside of a menu with O or X+Left/Right
