That thread still didn't answer my q's.
There is a partial list of some working laptops there. Also, I can confirm the thinkpad 760el works

ya i run it on a thinkpad 760el running win98 either by booting into dos or straight from the desktop. it recognizes the sb in both cases but in the couple of minutes that i tried it it was expecting midi from the mpu-401 on 330 rather than from my pc/s on 2F8 from com2. at least thats how it seemed at the time, need to poke around some more tonight

NICE and what are running for an OS again?
Win98. Man the Internet is pitifully slow with this PCMCIA card. Certainly the one thing I don't miss about older tech. Those were indeed simpler times.

They're available on m audios drivers page under legacy/portman. I think it will always show pcp but there's a check box for earlier versions that hides the pcs and other portman models. I got the pcs functioning properly last night. Even got a PCMCIA wireless card installed and working. Now I just need at2 to grab the incoming midi

Will that remove sharpie? Because my gameboy is heavily doodled upon.
1: Get a dry erase marker.
2: Cover the sharpie marks with dry erase marker.
3: Wipe off with a cloth after it sits for a couple seconds.
4: Repeat as necessary.

got mine in and put this together. squeezed in the toggle for the backlight on the front panel in the top right and put the toggle for the underclock on the back panel in line with it. i also placed the 1/8" line out on the back panel in the bottom right. now i could take the gameboy apart without having crossing wires. so much more room in this.

Re: What are the Seattle and NW chip scenes like these days? (54 replies, posted in General Discussion)
Eastern Washington is nothing like coastal Washington (I think the east would become their own state if they had the chance). Things are much more rural over there and farming/produce bring in the most money. Once you get east of the Cascades, things flatten out fairly significantly.
I can verify that. I just moved to the tri-cities and once you drive outside of the city there is nothing.
The weather is beautiful though. Summer is non-stop blue skies and sun. The winters arent harsh at all. I am used to the north east, RI, MA, CT is where i grew up. The price of living here is cheaper than the north east and the people are a hell of a lot friendlier.
