Just got them in today. Couldn't wait to show them off. They should be available very soon on kitsch-bent.com

Do you know if this noise reduction capacitor works without your "bass mod"? Seems like it would work with a standard pro-sound mod but I figured I would ask.

You could just trim the PCB down, cut out the back of a game cart and hot glue it in place. Done.

Great read! Very thorough. I've always wanted to see/read what these were like in such detail. Preferably by having my own but this isn't a bad second option!
Well done!

This is awesome. I always wanted to give this a try.
Didn't Nex do something like this once?

This is really cool. The test recording sounds awesome.

DMG in box? How much? Is the box opened and what's the condition of the box?

I've ordered buttons form him through eBay a few times. They always get here in about a week. That's the extent of my experience with him.

What do you guys think of the grey pockets? I'd love to get it but it's hard to find one with reasonable price...
I personally prefer pockets. It's the way it looks not the sound.

Same here. I wanted one so I just sanded a scratched up silver one:

Clear is no more rare than any of the standard colors. It is a standard color.

I did this a few times then completely forgot how because it had been a couple years. It was not as simple as soldering to the volume pot. If I remember correctly the amp is after the volume pot so you have to pro-sound it somewhere before the pot and the amp.
I followed the traces back and there are two tiny little exposed vias. I think this was it. I need to experiment with it again and find out.

Okay so I'm just about to change around the wiring, but before I did I went ahead and tested what I currently have on my stereo. It now seems to have the boost in volume, and general noise reduction. But now there is a little bit of another problem?!
When using lsdj, anything that I have set as a centered output (LR) is being pushed to the Left speaker, but when the output is set to either L or R it does just that, it goes to the Left or Right side. hmm....

Check your soldering. You may have crossed your wires or there could be a drop of solder touching somewhere. Just make sure it's really clean.
A pro-sound mod will give you LOUDER volume through amplified systems such as stereos, amps, mixers or a computers mic input. Since headphones are usually not amped they will be quieter. So loud volume and clean signal through a stereo is what should happen. Just check your soldering once more and you should be okay.
