I don't own them, the drawer in my old rack was actually a crappy computer keyboard rack-drawer.

Kinda like this -

i have one of those, as well, thanks to herr_prof... got some crazy looks from guys out on the corner selling shit at 4 am in brooklyn walking to the train with it, and even more weird looks taking it as carry-on

i see trash80's point, tbh ... the case design is of course, beautiful... but when it comes down to it, i wouldnt want it to be hardwired to only be for mgb, id want cart slots minimum...when i think of what i can do with a 1U rack synth, i think of the yamaha fs1r as my standard-bearer... on the other hand, id be all for rack mount nes/ardunioboy/game boy rack combo with cart slots and full sync capabilites.... there are good directions this idea can be taken it, for sure, just the initial idea could offer a bit more to the end user and i think its a shame that you would consider abandoning discussion about it here over trash's statements
(esp since my thoughts about where it could lead would have mgb as a minor part of the device, not the main basis for it)

To the best of my knowledge the USB adapter only works with 1.6? Also Im guessing buying 1.6 new is likely to be cheaper than looking for 1.2 - 1,5 second hand.

yes and yes (unless someone really dislikes 1.5 enough to have a fire sale)...
euro is near its year low exchange value vs the USD, so a 1.6 cart + adapter &cable from the site would run less than $50 if in stock today (the euro is likely to stay low for a while, so should have a decent window of opportunity when the carts are restocked)

when you say "last year", do you mean within the last month or so? i know carts are currently out of stock & there have been some issues with people having the new cart and not being able to update yet...bascially, i wouldn't worry unless you put in your order before the new carts were out or right at launch and even then, i wouldnt worry too much since oliver makes his way to this forum relatively often so i'm certain he will help you sort it out

yes, game boy player has a link port on it which is hooked up to the midi->gb hiding under the NES shelf... starting to use it to record nanoloop 2.3 stuff instead of my micros to save time on noise reduction smile
sadly, the mug of tea is not though

edit: though i do have a spare midify kit & a $25 amazon giftcard, time to go price electric kettles smile

speaking of midines, time for an updated picture:

pretty much all of it is controlled by and/or synced to the piggy->midi, including the video gear

ive done the RPM in 2007, 2008, 2010 & 2011, and in three of those years have done what i feel is some of my better work (and those three years were more than strictly chip hardware)... last year, i started a week late too, since i hard a hard time feeling inspired while snowed in by a blizzard...
highly recommend this, even if you have to do what i do and treat it like an 8-hour a day job on weekends so as to not mess with your day job...you can get a lot done with 16-20 hours of concentrated effort on a weekend, then spend the week listening to what you have done so far and making small adjustments after work...its a bit tiring, but worth it smile
