Bubblegum Octopus returns to Chicago! Here's how the night is gonna break down:

$10 cover

9pm Show Starts -- Performers in this order:

(1) CCDM:

CCDM is a Chicago based artist, who creates experimental electronic music and live visuals through the use of both antiquated and modern techniques.

(2) Watabou:

Watabou is the amalgamation of extensive electronic programming, punishing physical externalization, subconscious realization, and constructive manipulation of myself and my art.

(3) Bubblegum Octopus:

Bubblegum Octopus is an unusual electronic music project from New Jersey that has been actively pushing boundaries since 2005. Under the maxim of "Conflicting ideas working together" the project shows equal love to extreme metal and saccharine j-pop. Glitchy sounds and explosively fast drums coalesce with cutesy synthpop and chiptune/VGM, sometimes venturing into over-the-top, eurobeat informed rave, and at other times becoming lost in dreamy, SNES RPG-like introspection.

Bubblegum O. has toured all over the US and to Japan, and has been a fiercely DIY effort since day one.

Often billed as "spazzpop", to circumnavigate discussion of genres, Bubblegum Octopus is forever poised to lovingly subvert expectations.

(4) environmental sound collapse:

environmental sound collapse comes from chicago with songs full of sinister vibes and general spookiness. Expect to hear songs inspired by gruesome murders, relationships gone wrong, society in decay. Fuck happy.

but nanoloop 1.2 demo works on my EMS cart hehe

They work, you just can't save. Even then there are some broken versions of the rom floating around. Think i have the good rom on my site actually. Either way, you bumped a 2-year-old thread wink

If i got a powerpoint for my birthday id be pissed.

guess who's getting TWO  powerpoints for his next birthday

moved to trading post

unrelated, but i highly recommend taking road-trips with Saskrotch. only caveat is that at some point he will almost definitely make you laugh so hard without any warning that you nearly crash

there are still 1.1s out there. pretty sure Fumu/Esopus has my old one still

from those images, i'd think 1.0 or 1.1 (believe 1.2 added the version number on the startup screen) & i honestly can't even remember the main change from 1.0 to 1.1..1.2 added a custom waveform bank on a per save bank basis, it'd been one bank for the whole cart for 1.0 & 1.1.
if you can save to it, then i'd suspect it'd be one of the earlier 1.0 carts
edit: if it's legit, i'm 95% certain that'd have to be 1.0 because 1.1 was never in a clear cart iirc, but it could be a demo 1.1 rom on the flashcart too

i got into chip just too late for this, got my lsdj & nanoloop carts in 2003 sad

awesome, yeah, i've moved i think 3 or 4 times since you last mailed me something lol. if nothing else, i can mail you some home-made fudge if you want

as far as broken things, i do have a non-working (cable got messed up) xbox 360 wired controller sitting around that is fixable... i'll have a look at the random stuff in my boxes of things to get rid of later and post anything that might be of interest that's in them

hmm, i'd like that gp2x midi link, but not sure what i could offer in trade at the moment

oh right, i should link a video

i think just the fact that twitch itself is a for-profit company would make it a violation of the license technically (beyond the additional issues for stuff released with an ND license)

double-checked & the.fm site grabs all submissions regardless of license.

you can background using the tunes at http://chipmusic.fm - they're tunes taken from this forum which were all CC licensed. likewise all my music on https://defensemech.com is CC licensed so you have permission to use it

unless chipmusic.fm actually takes ONLY certain license types from among submissions to the site, that wouldn't be true. and even if it excludes copyright protected tracks and those using an ND license (using an audio piece in a video is considered a derivative work), it still might not hold since while OP themselves might not benefit from the streams, twitch could be construed as a commercial use of the tracks, which none of the CC license options offered upon uploading a track technically allow for (they're all NC licenses).
