Wow I met the creator of the Chip Maestro a couple of years ago when he came to Japan to visit the local hackerspace, he seemed like a decent guy. But after reading many comments about his device and service (not just this thread) he don't look so good now.
I believe he is a member of famous hackerspace in New York, called NYC resistor. Maybe some of you unhappy customers in the US can chase him down.

just a quick question, is there a time limit for the length of the song?
I remember in the last stockwave comp people were saying it should be like 1min and then looped over a couple of times, to make it really stockish.

I will try to give some advice that is related to music.
If you are finding it hard to finish a piece why don't you take part in some kind of compilation project/album which has a deadline, this may give you the drive to get to the end.

There is one on right now and it looks like a lot of fun:

here are some general tutorials I found good.

Actually for any general sound production techniques I think sound is probably one of the best sites out there.

I like to use the stereo chorus effect (quick and easy), but they say this should be used on single sounds and not a full mix.
(however you can get these in a effect peddle type thing)

Put Katachi999 down for yes.

Can anyone out there tell me about some good C64 native trackers that can work with dual SIDs?
My story:
I use MSSIAH, and Im currently doing a SID2SID mod.
I have also started trying to compose music using the SID Wizard tracker, the problem as far as I know this does not support dual sids.
I'm looking for a relatively easy to use native C64 tracker that supports dual sids?

I know about the big listing on the C64 database etc, I just want to ask people who have actually used these and may have a similar situation to me.

No shame in that, it rocks!

Something that is a little shameful though, is enjoying CSI various other crime/detective spin-offs a little to much.
However with all the helpful skills I have learn't from these shows, I'm pretty confident I could commit a murder and get away with it now.

Hi to any site moderators,

I'm trying to send an email for support because I would like to change my username (can't find any option on the site).
But after I send it to the above address (which is given when I click on 'Contact Us') all I get is a reply from [email protected]

Sorry but can you help

I'm an electrical engineer in Japan, I test products and write reports for the clients. I don't get to do much making or designing in my job, but this is another reason I really love the whole chipmusic community. Half of the fun is modding gear and bending old tech to create beautiful sounds. Although I don't have as much time as I want (day job!), I'm currently trying a C64 mod (MESSIAH, SID2SID an small LCD screen) so if anyone has any tips please let me know. Sorry for the little glide off topic.

But as many have said a day job allows me to live while I pursue my passions.
