Yeah, that's Plan B. I'm not a hardware guy though and after the sampling session they would probably gather dust. I have a small room with little storage possibilities. I guess I could resell them, but it seems a bit of unnecessary effort if someone who already has a nice collection can just sit down for an hour with audacity. Plus there are some classics that aren't that easy to get (Yamaha PSS series, old Casio SKs).

Three nice, free sample packs of a Casio SA-10, preset drums of the MSSIAH (on a 8531) and a Yamaha DD-8. Get the DD-8 pack for awesome 80s synth toms and snares!

Here's 2 packs of two 'No Name' toy keyboards. Can anyone ID those (pics linked on site)?

Another 2 packs of toy keyboards, but not free. I'm not keen on linking sample packs that cost money here, but man, toy keyboard samples are REALLY hard to find! Also, they're the price of two Happy Meals, so it's not too bad. I found toy /  toy keyboard packs for over $200 on my search!

Come on guys, share the joy of cheesy detuned keys and sample your favorite toy!

Awesome release. Left Out is fantastic!

Woo!

Congrats on the release man!

I would be very happy if the amount of image macros used here won't mirror that of another place. I would even be happier if discussions like the above stay on the mature level they are now, and people who don't participate directly in them either enter with a meaningful argument or stay out of it. I enjoy discourse a lot more than mud fights.

Disclaimer: This isn't directly aimed at Rei but a general wish of mine. Yes, I am aware of the paradoxicality of disrupting the discussion with this. Carry on.

I really don't see a need for public rankings or quality selection of any kind when it's possible to do them individually.

A request: Does anybody know a specialized Toy Keyboard archive? Is anybody hoarding good samples of those and wants to share?

Ah, so you mean the link to the last post (ie behind "Today 1:15pm" at the end of the table) . I thought you meant the blue box under the thread title.
Yeah, it's a bit dodgy here too. The click box seems to sit actually above the text.

Next up: You, your girlfriend and your GB peripherals.

This thread got depressing rather quickly neutral

do you guys know what the current correct word is?

Science!

"I'm calibrating a wave form operator with mnemonic commands to increase sonic density of the output. Here, I'll show you how it works. Let me guide your hands."

Hold on, maybe he's using a pda or something with a touchscreen. I could see that getting tricky.

forced Office 2007 theme for herr_prof please

My need to fit music to mood is stronger than fitting music to activity. But I've noticed that I program better and quicker with loud up-tempo stuff in the background (breaks, darkcore, that kind). Sometimes I wished I could listen to music while making music (don't laugh).

Thanks for the link btw, looks like a good book to pick up.

I usually know the musical taste of my acquaintances, so I tell them I make terrible beeps and bleeps they don't want to hear. So far anyone who persisted to listen to a sample agreed. I mean I get looks aghast with horror when I put on Autechre or even Aphex.

But I've at least slowly familiarized my co-worker with my personal choice of music, so he's on a "don't mind" level.

And here's a cool thing that might help if you want hardware and can program a bit:
