Got tshirts.  Thought a lot about hoodies, just not the right time of the year really...  Crazy humid here for them now.

You're selling from your backpack?

I was having the portable-vendor conversation earlier tonight at dinner...  Like old cigarette girls... smile

Come join us!  Weve got a big table...

i'm interested in the NL one with the working midi dongle.

i can get it at blip if you want, no need for shipping.

coo.  8 it is.

i'll update the top.

but, for the bottom:

Dinner/Drinks @ 8 tonight @ Pongsri

then, pulsewave open-mic right down the street.

come and catch up with friends, or meet new people!  trickle in, come whenever...

ok.  pongsri?

its @ 106 Bayard St. (corner of Baxter)

at 8?  or 8:30?

EVERYONE WHO WANTS can come, open invite.  soon i won't be able to update this thread, going out to meet up with justin when he gets settled...

yeah, saw that on the website just a little bit ago...  and that they close a little early.

updated list.

here's some asian places in the area.  comments anyone?:

nha trang
jaya malaysian
thai son
excellent dumpling house
china village
pongsri

those are the ones i've found on google maps within a couple block radius of DCTV (where the open mic is).  nha trang and jaya are cheap, thai son is supposed to have a wait normally during busy times, don't know a thing about the others yet.  if anyone has ideas, speak up!

oh, pongsri (thai) has a pretty decent menu (its online), the prices are from 7ish- 13, depending on what you get, unless you have to have a special or duck or something thats of course higher.

re: sake/soju, trying to figure that out as well.  some online menus just say 'alcoholic beverages', i'll update if i find something else out...  alcohol options are pretty nondescript on the websites though.

k.  i don't want to be late either.  we can bump it up to 8 if everyone wants.  nothing is set in stone at all at this point.  don't even know where...  just want to meet up, eat, drink, then open-mic it.

carrying over from the 'check-in' thread, since there are enough interested now...

some of us are joining up for dinner/drinks before the open mic

8:00, at Pongsri Thai which is @ 106 Bayard Street.

this is the list of interested people:
-- bryface
-- decktonic
-- justinthursday +1
-- kitsch
-- pixls

this would be a great chance for those of us who travelled to nyc alone to meet some people and learn some faces (like me!), or just a chance to get together and hang out without anything going on except food/drinks/laughter.

since it just started raining, i'll have a brightish green rain jacket on me, or in my hand.  with a short beard on mi face.  should be easy to find, i'll hang out front until someone else shows.

ok, i'll make another thread for this in just a second.

in another inquiry: anyone up for Nintendo World today?  in a couple/few hours ?  i'm going for sure, and would love company!  if memory serves me right, there is a museum of nintendo's development, older things as well.  maybe even a working demo-boy kiosk still set up.

Rockfeller Plaza, to save searching for it...  between 48th and 49th.

7-ish??

even split a cab to pre-open-mic dinner...

yeah.  you didn't find them because i'm the only one that did them.  bleepbloop carts came with them for a little while until they didn't.  had to have the artwork approved and all, it needed to be altered.  doesn't cut right in the plotters without some adjustments, and adjustments to art require the OK wink

well, guess i'll be doing some vinyl cut stickers!

Pre open mic dinner sounds great.  Asian especially smile

This should happen i guess those traveling/not here yet should throw out their time requests....

So pre open mic Asian?  I'm in.

If there is enough interest a native may need to help with a spot that can accomodate, suggesting one.

If there are more than four people interested we can just start a thread for it.  A meet-and-greet fooding sounds good.  Was hoping that pizza party would play out...

did you mess with the contrast wheel before modding it?  its not unusual for the contrast to do this, on stock consoles.  the parts on the consoles are just reaching the end of their life, electromechanical parts like this are rated in the # of movements as well, they just wear out.  and start behaving badly.

if the backlight caused this, and you're sure it wasn't there before, dunno.
