First time on Amtrak.  It's amazingly slow.....

Arriving tonight!

I'm always up for grabbing food.  And where is this barcade?  In relation to the venue I guess.....

right after blip the rom will be out, i'm already lining up the works for more eprom carts and eproms themselves, and i'll have all that done up on the site proper.  so for all the blip non-attendees who want one and can't pick one up there, no worries.

the ones at blip have either white or yellow pcbs, if it matters to you and you don't see both on the table atm.

It's just me, as far as I can tell.

there are a few north carolinians here

here's a cell shot close up of the sticker.

and a reminder, anyone at blip who wants to see what they're all about, stop by the table and get hands on.

i said earlier to email me savs you wanted to test.  thumbsticks are alright now, wiped by personal data and i'm dbanning the machine, so my paranoia doesn't matter.  bring your savs.  i'll have a bunch of ROMs on a thumbstick, if you have a modified one to test you'll need to bring it too.

can you find the LED? wink

i *think* they'll be $15 for that package.  i'm not set in stone on that price, might adjust a little up or down, thats where i'm at in my head right now considering the ability to reorder after this, and the extra parts, and the shipping.  i have to price out exactly a few things before friday, this is one of them.  i've been reviewing it roughly today though, really just from memory.  after a while and when the bulk gets higher, i will have more wiggle room with the price.  this is a considerably tiny batch in terms of machine-cast parts, and the cost reflects this (and the fact its a startup project).  it was sort of generous of the factory to even bother with such a small batch, it really wasn't worth their time and they'd already sent me samples to approve.  this all just fell together really well for blip.

they're supposed to be color matched to the original light grey.  the buttons i've already gotten are, they look insane.  hopefully it all matches when they arrive.  if so its an all light grey plastics set, if not its a light grey case with something else.  i'll dig something cool up.

man, i wanted that white shell =[

yeah, i've grown sort of in love with the smooth finish in white.  its really classy looking.

speaking of cases....  i'll have the first batch of the new cases with me at blip.  a special package: case, two screen covers (black and white, both with 5mm holes), matching buttons.  they match the original light grey plastic.

very cool.  thanks so much for posting these, grinning getting to see who won.  time to think of something to do for a later one now!  very motivating!

there isn't a way currently.  there are a limited amount of people with them atm, but they're all alpha/beta units and they've not been opened up for public purchasing yet.

patience wink  they'll come, i assure you of this.

abrasive can you give us a hint!
a hint on when will get one of your awesome cartridges?

you should really chill out with asking this question constantly.  it won't speed things up, and when you're busy being hounded never helps...

your over-exuberance doesn't translate well online.

just an update on this test cart.  well, not this exact one.

i managed to track one down, have a ROM backup now, and will upload it to somewhere for everyone's enjoyment.  it will need to wait until after blip though, i'm sort of scrambling getting ready, and don't want to deal with yet another thing to do.

at blipfest, i'll have a bunch of EPROM carts and a whole bunch of flashed copies of this.  took care of those a couple weeks ago.

the guts of these carts, btw, is just one of the standard nintendo EPROM carts (different shape PCB), most of that big grey box is totally empty.  they reused that shell for more expansive test carts, for game development.  i have a fist of the north star dev cart in this same case, its board takes up the whole thing and has multiple sockets for proms.

anyways, thought you all may like to know the ROM is found and on its way smile  its really a great thing to have if you go flea marketing for consoles or anything.  goes through a lot of tests, from top of my head there is a SRAM test, video test, audio test, and a button test.

so, if you'd like a hardcopy, drop by the KB blip table, i think i've made ~20 to take of that ROM.  and, a bunch of other eprom carts too.

you can get them from the kitsch-bent shop, the product 'custom buttons'.

well, almost.

those exact buttons are a one-of-a-kind set, sort of a strange blue/brown mix going on.  very cool.  so, those exact colors can only be had via that console, but in the 'custom buttons' product you'll find clear blue cgb buttons, they're the closest.

that exact gameboy was taken off the site, and it going to blipfest with me.

along with a bucket o' one-of-a-kind buttons, for the cheap.  make your own sets.  but, only at blip, and probably BRK.  in person.  too confusing and too many different buttons for online.
