hello everybody -
RGBva is back in stock, and we've changed the way we're selling the kits a little bit. we've separated the RGBva circuit board (and its hardware) from the RGBbb backlight. in the past, the RGBva kit was sold WITH the backlight. now, RGBva comes as a kit by itself, without the backlight.
the price has dropped a lot to reflect this change. (the price of buying RGBbb and RGBva separately is the EXACT same as the old price of RGBva, we didn't increase the price at all by splitting that combo)
this means that if you want to add a RGBva kit to your tri-color LED backlit gameboy, you can do this without having to buy the backlight in the kit as well. you can already have RGBbb installed, and this can be installed later. or, you can use this with another tri-color LED backlight you may already have installed as well.
anyways, they're back!

till next time, keep chipping!

thanks!
great great news!
i'd try switching around the two wires on the midi-in jack, a very common mistake...
also, notice its not grounded midi isn't grounded on both sides (of the cable) like you may expect...
JUST got in my lynx flashcart today, can't wait to try it out a bit...
its pretty nice, for anyone wondering... the packaging is actually really really impressive. for such a niche product, its super nice. i have yet to try the cart itself (seriously just got it)... can't wait to jump onto this wagon...

hey everybody -
so... even though we haven't sold the 32M type Smart Cards for some time now, we still get good amount of emails from people wanting replacement batteries for them.
http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/32 nt-battery
got these along with the recent restock of 64M carts (for once we got the restock in before the last one sold out, hence the lack of a restock email for this current batch).
anyways, enjoy! and keep chipping

a (very) basic intro to desoldering: http://store.curiousinventor.com/guides esoldering
(good) lowmelt solder: http://www.ameritronics.com/lowmelt_des uickly.htm
some other i've never personally tried, but it has good reviews: http://www.chipquikinc.com/
maybe that will help out those not in-the-know already about how to do this...
hdmi out from an ipad/tablet to a nice overhead projector, i bet... or some sort of video out
desoldering braids help tons.
the easiest thing to do is heat up the solder and pick out the clipped off legs with tweezers, then clean it up with a braid. well, easiest imo i guess
looks like a circuit from ciat-lonbarde...
"Pedro's South-Of-The-Border" is missing from I-95, btw
UPDATE:
i'm going to can almost all the tracks on the flashplayer and get some new things up (soon). i'll leave a couple i think because i like them, but the ones that are up have been there so long its time for a change...
so, SUBMISSIONS OPEN, please read the first post.
IMPORTANT!:
- mp3s only. please make my work minimal
- read the first post, all conditions still apply. same deal.
- email me at "matt (aatt) kitsch-bent (ddoott) com" with your info and whatnot, and put [MUSIC SUBMISSION] at the beginning of the subject line.
- artists previously on the player: PLEASE feel free to submit more. i'd like that, myself.
- to artists who have submitted things which aren't up yet: they will be put up with the new lineup, i didn't forget
thats pretty much it. when the flashplayer went down for a week or so a good amount of emails came in wondering what had happened, so i guess its being used enough. glad for it...
are those one-of-a-kind buttons? (they look sort of like the purple/pink blend ones)...
@kineticturtle - please do!
@Analog - como alguien que está tratando de ser un educador, tengo algunas cosas que me gustaría cambiar en las agendas políticas a su idiota actual.
@Frostbyte - eh, well, if you can find time to get something printed feel free to send it. i'm willing to drop whatever into the packages, thats pretty much my limits
@TraceKaiser - YES! that is certainly ok. please do.
so, same applies to all, feel free to send whatever and however many types of things you want. the only real limitation is the weight (per item, i don't care how many or little you send, just per item for me to consider). and size, but i can always hold larger things for larger packages which isn't an issue either (like cds or whatnot)
hi everyone!
its been a while since this thread got bumped, and its still very relevant.
you can read about what this is about above easily, but to recap:
we ship worldwide all the time, dropping promo materials into packages is no problem for us and makes the recipient happy (i suppose), and this is all free for you and me to do as the packages are going out anyways.
so, send whatever you would like, stickers, flyers, cds, keychains, whatever....
just keep the stuff lightweight. i'll just be dropping one in each package as they go out.
don't send heavy stuff that will cost us more postage.
but, packages are being sent out anyways, may as well help everyone out at the same time!
yeah, two posts up explains this all much much better.
