hey everybody!

bit of an unusual product to introduce today....  clones of the Game Boy Color and Pocket consoles!

http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/gb-boy
http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/gb-boy-colour

both can play the Game Boy-style cartridges.  thebitman looked into the audio qualities of one of these on cm.o here if you care to check it out: http://chipmusic.org/forums/post/167248/#p167248

if you're into this kind of stuff, they are worth picking up for sure and i tried to get a good spread of the colors while they were still available to us.  hopefully more to come in the future, but no promises,

till next time!  keep chipping,

matt

my guess is that the backlight is drawing too much power for pokemon to boot.

just an idea though, i don't have any hard evidence to back up this.

could very well be the case, some of the pokemon carts have some extra hardware on them

if you get an answer, or any other good information about it, please post it here!

edit: changed the title of this thread to make it a little more helpful for site searches, etc

this i do not know, i do have this unit and have used it a longlong time ago, but in terms of compatibility with other things it really beats me...

people have sold these units on this site in the past, they are still around so it'd be worth getting the auction for cheap even without the ability to flash it right now.  if you can't find a unit later, perhaps you could find someone with the set-up to still use the unit to flash it for you?

nitro2k01 might know the answer as to the compatibility with other programmers bit.  i think he's looked into cross-compatibility some in the past

it goes with the E-Merger system

its a now discontinued reprogrammable cartridge

you can find a bit of info on it (including the software to download) by googling 'gameboy e-merger' or something similar.

these should be fully compatible with LSDJ, they are mentioned extensively on the LSDJ wiki.  i can't think of any features in LSDJ since their timeframe which would not allow full compatibility now...

oh, i *think* those are samples from the upcoming NES buttons we've done.... (i sent some to justin when they showed up i believe)

mr. thursday, is that correct?  don't want to be wrong on that part.  i guess i should pull out the bag of samples and that console and check myself huh tongue   based on the pic now, i'd say yes.  i'll check later and correct this if i'm wrong.

Hey man. Yeah they're the samples.

(the pink and yellow keychains are cut just as cleanly, sorry about the pics!)

yay, more thretris!

hey everybody!

a lot has been going on lately, and the coming months will be pretty busy with some new products and happenings,

i've held off sending out a newsletter for a couple weeks to wrap a bunch of stuff into one, so here it goes!

we're very happy to now be carrying the new luftek DMG power adapters which allow you to power the DMG console via a USB cable cable with a male micro-USB plug. very handy in case you need a quick emergency backup for dead batteries! http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/lu … er-adapter

and, after a long wait, we've found some more of the CGB snap-on faceplates. i've seen some really great paint-jobs on these guys, they make a great (removable) medium for that type of artsy stuff: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/cg … -faceplate

the (super) NB's closet has made us some more keychains! we get asked about these a bit whenever they are out of stock. the colors (and wood) in this batch are really nice. the yellow and pink colors are so bright it made capturing them well with our camera unnecessarily frustrating (and ultimately mostly futile). http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/ki … t-keychain

thursday customs sent in one of their incredible RGB boys, the pushbutton mod on this guy feels wonderful and its overall a pretty impressive console (truly). http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/cu … gb-nes-dmg

speaking of, thursday customs' triple prosounders are restocked! http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/triple-pro-sounder

as are the usb 64M smart cards: http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/usb-64m-smart-card

we're (really really) happy to have gotten a bunch of the new R10T33R 7" records for the shop... if you like vinyl, or chip, or even better both, you should pick this album up. http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/r10t33r-step-it-up

pretty exciting news this past week too... new thretris cases! its been a while since we've been able to carry his stuff, its always high quality and he pays attention to details very well. http://store.kitsch-bent.com/category/by-brand-thretris

and to cap off a crazy long newsletter, LOOMIS sent in a new console too! http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product/cu … -and-greys

phew... did you make it all the way through that? be prepared for more goodness soon wink

till next time, keep chipping!

thanks for looking!

there used to be a whole bunch of aftermarket case colors available on dealextreme

i put my old one into a clear case, and loved it (then lost it)

thats what i'd do with them

edit -- seems they are still there http://dx.com/c/video-games-699/nintend … ouches-633

use fresh batteries and see if that helps

new batteries seem to clear up so many problems.

is this the first slice of pizza in open high atmosphere?  or is this some space-like thing?  pseudo-space?

that's really cool.  this whole video has some really good parts to it.  its sort of great tbh

congratulations on the new album!

oh wow

the logo at least is trademarked

i suppose it'd matter the law of the place in which it was trademarked?  (sweden i'm guessing?)  here if you read logo trademark sheets and stuff it states the plain text itself (i.e., the name) on the form, as well as a general description of the logo/image involving the text, and then usually dimensional drawings or at the very least a rough sketch.  but, basically, here i'm pretty sure if the LSDJ artwork/logo were trademarked, this would implicitly trademark the name of LSDJ as well.

there is also the issue of 'first use', and first commercial application, etc.  it gets confusing and i'm certainly no expert, and am just as likely to be entirely wrong as any bit right about this.
