first of all I'm super excited about all the upcoming releases from you cool cats smile

second I am also working on a new release which I am very excited about. It is a full album of 128bpm techno / house music in the style of my "Union Square" EP and it will be called "Forgotten Machines." The name is based on this idea I've had regarding all these old synthesizers and hardware that have been regarded as "outdated" and typically discarded, and we haven't even come close to realizing the full potential of what can be created with these forgotten machines, but as we rediscover them and continue to explore, we are showcasing what they can do. The whole album will be DS-10 and I'm happy to say that it's a step up from my previous work and if I do say so myself, a good showcase of what the classic KORG MS-20 was capable of. Think of it as a lovefest of analog synth sounds.

I don't know when it will be ready or how I will go about releasing it but I hope to have this album out before the end of the year. Excite!

I'm pretty sure there's an HTML5 <audio> tag on this page:

http://www.opus-codec.org/examples/

HTML5 does not provide support for specific audio codecs. The HTML5 Audio module just provides an audio wrapper that can serve audio content. It's up to the browser makers to determine which audio codec formats they will actually support.

This means that it really doesn't matter if HTML5 supports it or not, it's a moot point.

I have two recommendations:

1. have a look at this: http://www.no-spec.com/about/

2. encourage artists to submit songs that were essentially done as spec work and never used... e.g. songs for games that were never finished, etc.

That would be cool if I did that! But I already have submissions. I have some of that stuff i might include.

If anyone has any, please submit!

I was just going to say, if people have submitted songs that were going to be on that other comp with the tape, then it fits the theme of "spec work never used."

Fair enough, but dismissing any opinion different from yours as "dumb" without further investigation might come across as the exact opposite of taking them seriously.

oh of course. I came to that conclusion after careful evaluation, the last 10 times we had this same thread smile

ok I'm gonna stop posting in this thread, it's silly.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In all seriousness though, taking people's viewpoints seriously doesn't mean I like their viewpoints or agree with them. I just care a lot. I care a lot about people's opinions, whether I think they are smart or dumb. Some people are apathetic and it doesn't really matter what you think of their art. I'm not like that.

I hope that makes sense.

I could go along with this if the BRK sample didn't exist.
