While the 808 is the "standard" it seems to me that your music wouldn't sound very original since you would be using the same machine that 99% of hip hop, rap and dance music all use.

Hello everyone, as you might remember I put together the Warioware DIY compilation a while back, and it went well. I'd like to continue encouraging people to make music with their Nintendo DSi's so I'm putting together a Rytmik compilation. Rytmik is a music app you can download from the DSiWare service, and there are 2 versions: the original, and Rock.

So let's keep this simple:

- Deadline: February 10.
- All tracks must be done with Rytmik. No post-processing. You can, however, add vocals if you wish.
- Tracks do not have to sound like "chiptune"
- Please submit WAVs, you can use my Soundcloud dropbox: http://soundcloud.com/decktonic/dropbox/profile

I'll be doing some album art and hosting this on Dual Mode Records. Post in this thread if you plan to submit a track. It should be fun!

Man great shows happening Jan 7th!

300 dpi as a 600x600 pixel image is 2" square, maybe a bit small...

Whoops, I didn't mean to write that. If you are making it for print it should be measured in inches... 6" square or something.

I really like 350x350 because that's what Bandcamp uses. The issue with chip covers is that they usually have pixel art which does not scale well... there was a cover on dancing is forbidden that was 216x216 and that was a real pain because I could not resize it without ruining the quality. If you are designing an album cover for print you should always do high quality (300dpi) and start at like 600x600 at a minimum. If you are doing it for web then 72dpi is fine but you should still make a large version to scale down from.

This makes no sense. I tried [email protected] and it failed. What's your email address?

I started working on my remix of "End of Line" today and it's almost done! I'm gonna keep polishing it but I just wanted you to know I'm good for it smile

DK you are amazing. Also, get a job. (At EA?)

EA is last resort territory. Lot of work for little pay. Go to a startup, get paid good for how hard you'll be working, and then make bank when EA buys you out.

I just bought this the other day for my little brother... I was helping him set up a new computer and decided to load it up with games. $8 and he ended up with like 9 or 10 games in total smile

Yeah I just saw the movie last night, it's amazing.

You know, it's not like each song can only have one remix...

I used to listen to Rowan's radio station when I lived in NJ. There were a couple of really AWESOME shows... wayyy back when (14-15 years ago)

That's cuz the mid 90s were awesome.

I'm reserving "End of Line" right now.
