Re: dmg-01 biversion graphic glitches? (4 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
uhm... never mind that actually i put it in my gameboy pocket and realized it was just the bush thing in front of her <.<
but there still seems to be something funny with the colors, everything looks much bulkier. ill recheck the traces later. need to reopen it for the later mods anyways.

Topic: dmg-01 biversion graphic glitches? (4 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
today i finished biverting my ghettoboy dmg.
it looks pretty cool, but in some games there are graphical glitches... for example in metroid 2 in the starting area, when samus is on the ground her lower half is just a bunch of pixels. this is not the case however if shes in midair.
i used a 74LS04 chip on a dmg-01.
i also prosounded it today.
what do you think could be the cause for this? inproper soldering of the connections? some connections shorting? or maybe the prosound mod?
ill gladly read your answers.

yes, the inputs in my mixer go into an amp before going out

hum... actually i wanted to use 10k pots because i wasnt able to hear any sound when testing with my phone (even though its VERY loud), but later i want to use it for prosounded gameboys and the like. should i rather use higher resistances then?

Re: Lithium-(Poly)ion battery maintenance question (1 replies, posted in General Discussion)
usually a sleeping computer does not provide current via usb. that is, if you are not using an externally powered usb hub.
if tha tis the case, make sure you have a reliable overcharging protection circuit (which you should always have anyways), then you should be fine.
depending on the circuits and batteries quality you might have a small loss of battery amperage, but thats depending on the parts and not the way or duration of charging it.

Re: Where can I find NES shell replicas? (4 replies, posted in Nintendo Consoles)
there is no shop that sells nes shell replicas. and if they did it would probably cost much more than one or two used nes systems

that soldering should be no problem
about the mega memory and its family: yeah, could be very useful. but ive heard negative things about them, corrupting saves and such. and if i use my ems cart i can just as well back up my saves to the pc
gba sp speaker... well if i include a speaker then probably a nds lite one as i still have it lying around here. not sure if its the same as the sp one, but its also very flat and gives good sound.

Re: Making a passive mixer. (97 replies, posted in Other Hardware)
i think that wont make a difference, since the pot is used as a variable resistor, so both add up no matter which order they are in (as long as they are in a row).

Re: Making a passive mixer. (97 replies, posted in Other Hardware)
well afaik there should be at least some resistance to protect the inputs.

Re: Making a passive mixer. (97 replies, posted in Other Hardware)
dont you have one resister per channel? afaik the resistors are for the inputs not going back into the other input.

Re: all possible mods for dmg? (17 replies, posted in Nintendo Handhelds)
so im not quite sure if i got how the variable over/underclock works.
as im always short on money and because i like diy better than premade, instead of buying a variable overclock set for the dmg id like to make my own.
but im not sure if this kinda setup would work basically?
note that im pretty much an electronics noob at most areas so this may be completely wrong/useless
edit: actually i wanted to use 2mhz instead of 4 in that pic

of course ill open up a work log here as soon as i can start ( = my gameboy finally arrives). like i said, i dont know if ill have to extend the gameboy case so it may become ugly before the final cosmetic acts

fur coat sounds great xP
actually i think ill build in one of those battery meters that shows you the voltage in numbers and put in a 7.4v li po battery.
