I'm going to assume it probably has something to do with the save battery going bad.
I'm also going to beat anyone else to the punch and say buy a Drag N Derp cart.

Also, you might want to try another of the Behringer interfaces. Their QC is spotty sometimes and you might've just gotten a dud.
Are you using a prosound mod on your Game Boy? If not, that might account for some of the whine.
I use an M-Audio interface I found in the trash at my college years ago. Still works really well.
Thanks! The records were cut by Tyler Bisson at Audio Geography. Really nice dude who does good work. http://www.audiogeography.com
Glad to hear it made it overseas so fast! I was actually hoping someone would use this in a Dreamcast or PSX. If I could find a way to set up a Dreamcast disc that played video and music, I'd totally make my next physical release for Dreamcast.
Thanks... the record should arrive sometime this week. Labor Day kind of screws up shipping times.
And as of Sunday morning, the lathe cut records are SOLD OUT.
You can also watch all the videos at http://www.youtube.com/portopakmusic, unless you're just waiting for the VCD. It's a format that seems to make perfect sense for the 120x90 footage the PXL-2000 puts out.
Cats are definitely an acquired taste. I was a dog person most of my life, but after a few months around a cat, I changed my mind.
That's a really great cat name. Both of our cats were foster cats that were already named, so giving them last names were the only way to personalize them.
Hope you enjoy the record! It'll ship Tuesday, because of Labor Day weekend.
Just out of curiosity, has there been a chiptune VCD release in the past? Am I the first person to release one?
If so, it's a pretty dumb badge of honor, but I'll wear it regardless.
Thanks man. Those are my cats. I started an Instagram that's just all pictures of them to keep from annoying people on Facebook and that's one of my favorite pictures I've gotten of them. Isabella Rossafeline is crazy about grooming herself and will sometimes try to hold down Neil Catburger to bathe him as well. Usually, he gets away, but this time he was actually letting her do it and I fortunately had my phone handy.
Also, there's only 3 record/VCD sets left. Once they're sold out, they're gone for good.
Thanks Stim! Glad you enjoyed it!
Also, there's only 5 records left! I'm at the halfway mark after 12 hours. Thanks to everyone who picked one up!

My new EP is out now. I wanted to do something a bit different than just MP3s and CD-Rs this time, so I had a limited run of 10 7" square lathe cut records made. I also put together a music video for each track with a Fisher Price PXL-2000 camcorder, which are included with the records as a VCD.
The Bandcamp download includes the videos as an MPEG file for burning your own VCD. They're also all on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/portopakmusic.
Track listing:
1. I Got Your Assassin
2. Life Without Regrets
3. Sensible Excitement
4. The Most Robotic I've Ever Been
The record/VCD combos are $7.50. I know that sounds high, but lathe cuts are a bit more expensive than pressed records. The final cost per unit after including the CD-R, sleeve printing, etc. is $6.60, so after PayPal fees, I'm just breaking even.
And if you're not familiar with lathe cut records, here me demonstrating how it looks/sounds:
I can't remember what emulator I used, but if you have an older Android device with a slide-out physical keyboard, it's much better than touchscreen controls. I tinkered with LSDJ a bit on my old LG Optimus Slider when I was starting out.
Nope. It's a bright green GBC.
I had this happen on the GBboy Colour clones but never on a real gbc and that's all I use. Are you on the newest lsdj version? If you change the vibrato setting slightly does it still happen?
I actually upgraded to 4.7.3 to see if it would help, but no dice. It still cuts off with a different vibrato value.
I found that thread a bit later. It seems like it's only certain CGB models that do it. I wish I had noticed before I shipped it off and paid for a prosound mod.
Did nitro2k01 ever get back to you about that special ROM that might fix it?
In the meantime, I've discovered some other workarounds, like adding an extra W command or two in the same table as the V command, but it's still not perfect.
I mainly got the Color to do 2xLSDJ with the Pocket, so I'm figuring I'll still be able to use it. I was mostly wanting to be able to do WAV bass and use the GBC WAV channel for kits. I guess as long as I keep any sustained notes with V or L commands on the Pocket, I'll be fine.
Even weirder, sometimes it'll cut off in a few ticks, sometimes it will sustain the note with no problem. I can play the phrase on loop and it will cut off on the first play, then sustain on every other one.
