also, sunvox 'analogue synth' module! sunvox 'filter pro module'!

I really feel like people get stuck on gameboy for too long...there are other great trackers out there. I dont understand why everyone is sleeping on sunvox...I guess it just looks intimidating, but actually if you can use LSDJ then learning sunvox will be easy (rtfm).

V command wink

Forgive me if I'm mistaken but isn't the V command 'vibrato'? (ie. applying an LFO to pitch).

That 'biscuit hardware looks pretty nice...I'm pretty sure you would love the bytebeat synth in caustic android, called '8bitsynth'...If you like Rob Hubbards sound design techniques then this caustic 8bitsynth is for you.

I think that chipmusic (particularly sample based, milkytracker etc.) is a really great way for people in comparatively far flung regions of the world to learn something about computers because maybe they can not afford a powerful laptop and an ableton license + vstis but milkytracker and other sample based trackers are not CPU intensive at all and they are free to download and use.

Also the software is pretty old school so one can make connections about computing...can almost see the cogs turning, so to speak. However, I feel like the gameboy stuff has become too expensive these days and its kind of a blind alley in a way...I mean, no one is ever going to make any money doing gameboy only music.

O.K. Awesome. I used to visit 8bc all the time to look up tips on LSDJ and nanoloop before I stopped using them. It was a very useful site.

So this site is created and maintained by yourself, Herrprof and Xyno?

I understood something just now. You must have had an endless stream of people from 4chan trying to do their comedy, which is often heartless in nature, and you've all really had enough of memes and trolls and all that kind of stuff.

O.K, just done some background reading and I think I understand now. The guy who made the bleepbloop carts took money and the carts never arrived. He then deleted any posts questioning why.

Following this, a swarm of meme-posters from 4chan spammed 8bc with memes 24 hours a day until the site was taken down.

I must say, I find 4chan to be extremely offensive. I think there are some seriously unsavoury characters lurking there.

@herrprof: Are you the guy behind "true chip til death"?

That does sound like a creepy way to find an excuse for touching a boob/titty. Was there a lot of heated debate about it on 8bc at the time?

Is jose mexican or spanish?

I have no idea how to keep the sounds this thing makes in  tune though.

heres a link to a basic overview of how to use the caustic 8bitsynth

This synth is so awesome. It enters into Rob Hubbard sound design territory.
Some of the sounds I got out of this thing were fascinating and I dont even know how to use it properly yet...highly recommended!

Ive been trying work out just how the phuq one is to write bytebeat formulas.
It all sounds pretty interesting, maybe y'all gameboy peeps would like it?
It sounds cool, glitchy as hell.

Im using the 8bit synth in caustic android...there is a program for generating those formulas outside of caustic though...

@d_srct:

dont stress out about my dumb comments...lets stop the chipwar before its too late for all of humanity.

@fudgers:

Dont take this the wrong way but about half way through that tune I felt like maybe hitler had got hold of a gameboy.

@VCMG: interesting, i like the hihats....reminds me of part of the melody from sanxion

however, prior to the aforementioned statements pertaining to chiptune preference the entity known only as "district" did, in fact, state clearly that he considered jaffacakemexica to be "stupid", after which he also insisted that jaffacakemexica should "go fuck [himself]". In light of these facts I conclude that JaffaCakeMexica acted accordingly and was well within his rights as a bright and aspiring chipmusician.

also your not limited to samples only in renoise. you can easily use vsti as your oscillators.
out of all trackers renoise has the most resolution for automation as well as other things. 256 divisions per line. If the need is for in the box synths inside a tracker, and portability (tablets, phones) then sunvox is the way to go. in my humble opinion sir, sunvox and renoise are the best trackers to date.

instead of tables, renoise has phrases.
sunvox also has phrases, inside metamodule.
