These are pretty cool! I can see what you mean about repeating though... hmm I find that the best way to avoid repeating things is to force yourself to write new patterns, and rather than just looping a pattern that you've already written, re-write the pattern so that it builds with the other instruments. Even copying patterns and then changing them to add fills and slightly different parts can make a track sound very different. Using fills is an especially handy trick that keeps a track moving along, so keep that in mind! Hope that helps! big_smile

These are seriously awesome! I could listen to these for hours! But like havocCc said, I kinda wish they went on for longer tongue The arrangement is incredibly tight, and instrumentation is spot on for the styling, keep it up please! big_smile

(Bump for CC and feedback please)

Overdub by Tom Foolery and the Family Jewellery

Tom Foolery and the Family Jewellery proudly present to you this fresh debut release of brutal basses, crunchy kicks and sizzling snares, all squeezed out of a single Nintendo Gameboy running LSDJ. This EP gently lures you in with a curious melodic introduction, then suddenly throws you around the room in a frenzy of drops, eventually leaving your bones rattling with bass.

Listen here!

1. First Impressions
2. Second Guesses
3. Third Time Lucky
4. Back and Fourth

As this is a debut release and a first attempt at something reasonably serious, it would be great to hear some thoughts and constructive criticism on the tracks or the album as a whole! Thanks!

I'm not sure about the RAM differences, although I imagine there shouldn't be too much difference between the two once upgraded. If you're purely after MIDI sequencing, then you don't need an STE, any ST will do, the STE's are just preferable as they do really good audio output (not needed for MIDI).

The main MIDI software for the ST was stuff like Cubase for ST, Notator, and Creator (Fatboy Slim used Creator for all his stuff). These are all really good however they do require specific Dongles that act as a key to 'unlock' the software (to stop piracy), so you'll have to buy one of those to use it. MaxYMiser is good for MIDI, but if you're not used to trackers then it's a steep learning curve, and it can only do 3 voice MIDI polyphony (I think?).

You can also hook it up to a flat screen using something like this (click for link). Don't know about quality though.

Really enjoyed this album! Simple and fun! Look forward to more! big_smile

So, after recently acquiring an Amiga 500 I've been super excited to get it running, and after suitable adapters have finally arrived I went to try and get it working today. I'm using a USB to Serial adapter which is then running into the Amiga, and I'm trying to use Amiga Explorer. Every time I try to run the Amiga Explorer setup to put the Amiga side in the Amiga RAM, it fails to connect to the Amiga and suggest upping the buffer size on the Amiga. After trying as suggested the same error still occurs every time. I've tried multiple drivers for the USB to Serial Adapter, and I've also followed all the on-screen instructions and tutorials... hmm So, uh... Any ideas? Any other ways to transfer files? Anything...?

EDIT: I'm using windows 10 if that makes a difference...

midi input for LGPT would be amazing, you could use it as a midi sound module really nicely.
also yep multiple midi outs (though we got 16 channels so not greatly needed by so many people i wouldnt think)
multiple AUDIO outs from LGPT however (even only 4 or something) that could be routed to your audio interfaces outs, would be so unbelievably useful I would cry.

Yeah, multiple audio would be mental too tongue I was thinking multi midi because a lot of things these days are USB midi, so you can't chain them...

My suggestion would be multiple midi outputs for LGPT! I really want to run my usb-boy and midi synths with lgpt tongue
