I'm going to close this for a couple reasons.  We already have a thread about what's your local scene like and you didn't even put your area in the title.  Just an area code in the thread itself.  Also I am a giant poopy head..  poop head.... pop head.. .. anyway you get what i'm saying

It's easy to think everyone is negative and the world is ending if you base a musical community on words that are akin to thought-provoking bathroom wall etchings. Like other's have said, just go to a chip show. If you live too far away, make one yourself or drive across the country.

I try to do the "don't say anything if you don't have anything nice to say" thing, but it's hard to keep it in sometimes. I'm sorry

ovenrake i'm sorry i pushed you away and you left tacoma!!  come back we miss you

old figures like demo scene old or like 8bp old or 8bc old or CM old?

old is really relative so i'm not sure what frame of reference you are working off of here.

as far as the site goes we have tried pretty hard to be open about where the boundaries lie and what we will allow and not allow.
we however do have rules and do have to feel that it is in the communities best interest that we enforce, albeit lightly and with a fair
amount of discussion on the back end.

not me.  i'm to lazy to figure out how to use it

This seems to be changing from talking about the new rule to debating how many angels can dance on the head of the pin.

In closing two close friends of mine were just able to get married here in Washington after being a couple longer than my wife and have known each other let alone been married.  As staff we've decided that there are attitudes and words we do not want to be reinforced and used on this site.

This is not up for debate however we do thank you for you opinions and how polite everyone has been.

I'm going to close this thread now before the politeness wears thin.

Pretty neat looking total meh on the dr drumset having only midi.  Love the individual outs and lvl controls for each

come back to tacoma you jerkface sad

I thought it closed??

Nope still open. I heard on Facebook they're looking to expand with a new location

I'm going to say come to tacoma. quick drive to seattle and a lot cheaper.

Seatle has a lot going on.  Tacoma used to have more but after ovenrake moved there is less. I'm to lazy to set up chip shows and just do drone and noise stuff

luckily for you guess i don't think i got likes

ebay?

most music sites happen to have a buy sell trade forum but do not want to be defined by them.  its weird.

I never thought I would see Riff Raff being discussed in a Chipmusic forum...

I actually agree that a polite approach is much better... It makes me nervous when the chipscene attacks other artists who appreciate this music enough to "sample" it... Even if to them that means lifting the whole basis of the track and sticking a beat under it...

I don't know if attribution is the only issue here?
I hope it is...

but still... I hate the idea that the chip scene will be seen from the outside as an insular group of copyright nazi's instead of open minded copy-leftists
