I see two bank support. Is that a software or hardware trick?
What can it do with the Mega Memory card?

Chances are the two-bank thing is both hardware and software. Power cycling might be for flipping the EMS 64 cart and any other multi-bank carts we'll see. Mega Memory card I'm going to guess we will get a memory manager of some sort big_smile which would be sick, like a LittleFM-ish option for non-LittleFM-compatible carts. Also, mass savebackups/dumps.

Everything has been in the mail a while. Should be hitting all of you on Friday at the latest, and I have money in my Paypal to refund any/all of you if your products don't get there soon. Thank you for being patient, and I promise it's all on its way to you!

EDIT: I will say that the post office nearest me is really small. 2 counters, never has a line when I go in. They tend to do the job right, snail mail or not. So the delay is a bit concerning but I have faith in USPS (but not UPS, for those of you who have me added on Facebook haha).

Ideally we would see a homebrew software for the GBA that justifies wider use of it past the nanoloop scene (aside from a few exceptions). The DMG-centric scene is so developed because it has actual music software to use and it is widely used. Show modders decently popular software and a large userbase, and there will surely be more mods for the GBA.

Take it apart and spray the inside?

The tracker vs. piano roll thing is all a mind game. (IF you use LSDJ) Turn your Gameboy screen sideways, and boom, you have a piano roll.

No, a piano roll represents pitch by positioning the note events differently.

Way to not include the next sentence.Which provides a proper explanation for that. My point still stands though - the whole "I can't do trackers" thing is a bullshit mindgame that takes a bit of effort to conquer.

The tracker vs. piano roll thing is all a mind game. (IF you use LSDJ) Turn your Gameboy screen sideways, and boom, you have a piano roll. The thing is, each channel is basically monophonic, so rather than waste a bunch of space with a piano roll you simply stamp your one voice along the ticks and decide what the note is. Turn your Gameboy rightside up.

If you think of a channel in a tracker as a rhythmic pianoroll going down instead of right, you will be just fine.

I know I never tell you this enough Dan, but I love you. And I wish I could have been at that show last night. The footage I keep finding is amazing.

I tend to solidify tunes in my head, and I simply input them into the tracker. Sort if like how when I write for real instruments, I don't compose in my notation software. But my approach may be different from yours. I just tend to isolate then develop an idea in my head, then transcribe it then WHAM the song is done.

Like everyone else has said, throw in the resistor. I found mine at my local Radioshack for $2 for a pack of 5. Also, try fresh batteries, the light tends to fade a bunch with the Power LED.

Resistor helps a ton. Get the 47kOhm variant.

Gameboy Light is being acquired by Katsumbhong

Bump for new things.

Its awesome man, you should write shitloads of music using that method, haha.

Now again, in wich format is it gonna get released?

Should be on CD and iTunes, but I will try and make a downloadable version on my SoundCloud once I get the mix how I like it.

happy or mad?  (just curious, one of those weird english words which means multiple things, the opposite sometimes).

like 'cool'

aaah, the world of non-natives using slang the wrong way, hahaha

Yeah, i meant it tickles me , like it makes me smile and stuff. I like it. Its kind of neat hearing someone from outside your culture reference it or use it in his/her work

The piece originally was based off the joke Mandy made saying I should make "traditional dance music" for Gameboy, which is where the Latin theme came from. Literally every bit and byte of that song was written with her and things she said that stuck out in my mind. Even though I wrote the piece, I like to think that it is hers! smile

Sorry, working on integrating more brass into some upcoming tracks. Stay tuned. tongue

And thanks for the encouraging words and criticisms! smile
