If a DAW will be the core of your setup and any of your other gear uses DIN MIDI ports, I suggest you use an Arduinoboy since often you can buy models that feature a MIDI THRU via their MIDI OUT port.

Hey. Tell us why you wish to implement Gameboy + MIDI into your setup so we can best help you choose your device.

For the record, you can use certain off-brand link cables for multi-Gameboy sync with the USB Boy, or roll your own splitter adapter by hand or with a modified DMG07 cable. Works with Arduinoboy or USB Boy.

How about instead of taking credit for everyone else's discussion, you apologize or fuck off?

You could fit in by playing Mario at a rave with this.

But seriously, excellent concept smile can't wait to see more!

By trying to cater to so many things you will drown this project and overwhelm yourself. I am not saying you should make it open source, but it may be a good idea to make this thing expandable so that people can develop their own solutions to their own problems in their workflows.

Also make sure your copy Logic plays nice with your interface. I know 10 and 11 are extremely finicky with USB MIDI devices of all sorts I have tried.

How do those GBC's handle compared to the DMG's with the Synthboy+ kit?

the shock factor gets me most of my shows.

Write good music and you don't need shock factor. Otherwise it's a full on gimmick. And rarely does that work out.

I am in the process of booking a small tour for the duo project I am in with a buddy, doing chip-heavy EDM. It's incredibly hard to get booked in most of the deep South for electronic music. And chipmusic? Good luck. It's not impossible but it is freaking hard. Even if you were Bit Shifter or Danimal Cannon no one would show up because there simply isn't a lot of great nerd friendly culture/bars in the South period. EDIT: unless you are playing in Atlanta or maybe Nasheville or Orlando. I am DJing the once-a-year videogame themed night that happens in Birmingham and I am dreading it. I promote locally and this show always has the smallest turnout. No unity of geeks in the South, none at all.

If you plan on booking a tour and breaking even, make sure you feel like you can kill a show. Possibly sell tee shirts or a CD. Maybe even business cards with QR codes going to a free EP download. You want to be well-remembered so you can play somewhere again and have returning listeners should you do another show. It pays to be well-equipped.

The final thing I have to say is that if your music doesn't have vocals and you are playing some sort of bar where people regularly go to hear music with vocals, you might wind up in a bad spot if they don't find your music interesting. Best of luck with the bookings. I find that local footage from anything - house party, rave, jamming at an open mic - helps with your press kit.

Placing all my bets on you cutting the backlights somehow and making them both fit so the DMG has a two toned screen. tongue I've never seen it done.

http://lofifuture.tumblr.com/ look around here for more pics.

Extremely cool build, another thing that makes me want to build a slick 2xDMG setup with a DJ style mixer build in with basic EQ controls and filters. Teensyboy inside would be sick too.

OP and the thread title ask for something completely different than what you linked. CV is great, so is the form factor. But in no way is it a modular Gameboy synth. Not even close. Other folks are right on the money with their designs.

i actually don't know (i expect them to go fast, but who knows).  seems i am on the low end of the totem when it comes to getting stock.  funny, as i was the first to reach out to krikzz and carry his stuff.  and helped him with his sourcing  hmm

Seeing as there is so much struggle out in jis country and we are a nation of interest in the US, it makes sense that any US suppliers like yourself may see packages from over there be held in customs a while and be thoroughly checked. smile blah blah national security blah blah

I may pick up an Everdrive-GB when kitsch gets them in

If you have your hopes on using LSDJ with it, hold off for now. It doesn't play nice with saving and song loading in LSDJ even with LittleFM...
