Second in a series of imaginary 7" records. Five summery wintery landlocked surf songs about Texas flora great & small.

yeah, I totally dig the sound of cassettes also (everything I record these days hits cassette at some point) but can accept that a lot of people don't

on topic: these releases are very well-designed, especially those Hello World cassettes

Isn't putting out cassettes in 2015 kind of like putting out VHS in 2015?

Isn't putting out vinyl in 2015 like putting out Wax cylinders in the 60s? Which is to say, great and nice?

on a more pragmatic note, they are the cheapest format to produce, especially in small quantities

also they are punk and just generally rad, these are pragmatic concerns as well when one is talking about music and not, like, washing machine design

Either I never figured out how to configure it, or "superior" is debatable.

I would steer clear of Windows 8 if *at all* possible, but maybe that's just me. But yeah, chiptune stuff doesn't require much power (kinda the point!), so get whatever you can afford.

New UI looks nice! I need to try this out again - can't use FamiTracker anymore now that I'm on a Mac sad

iirc the FDS has its own audio channel, so if you really want everything, you might need that

but the true and correct answer is "front loader" now & forever

this is well-done & I'm impressed by the structural complexity of a lot of the pieces (an important element that's sometimes missing when people try to imitate SNES soundtracks). I feel like a lot of the tracks are basically just rewrites of tracks from the original games though - some of the arrangements are pretty much exactly the same, and even the melodies are kinda similar in places.
