I'm trying to make a few impressive audio-visual thingies for my website. What's the best editing software for this type of junk? Open source would be ideal, but inexpensive is fine too. That said, I'll take any recommendations.

Hmm, well, I don't have much experience with Illustrator. It would be a learning experience for me. What advantage would Illustrator have over another program for your project?

Are you still wanting it in a pixelly style? I can do a number of hand drawn styles, but like I said, I've not really used that software.

I'm doing these for as low as $25, depending on projected difficulty.

EDIT: To clarify - All of my work will be high quality, but a $25 piece won't be hyper-detailed or include many frills. If I feel that I can't do what you're describing well for that amount, I'll come back with quote. smile
