looks really nice, well done!

was this meant for another thread?

Could always make a series of 'new' chains of the song that is totally rewritten or has some samples in it, that you use when playing live?

(That's what I do when I want to edit some of my pre-existing tracks)

well written review! definitely makes me more excited for what I already know will be a killer album.

There's a lot you can do, especially with LSDJ. I like to add intro/outro bits that aren't on the record before the main body of the song, mute/solo stuff for effect, tweak instrument parameters,  and sometimes drop entire new sections into the middle of existing songs. Breaking up song mode tracks into chunks and queueing them up in live mode can also keep you pretty busy on stage. I've also started playing with EQing and filters live. As long as you're doing something to make the performance unique, people tend to respond to that pretty well.  Playing live instruments along with trackers is also a great idea, and it's something I'd like to start doing more of as well.

Of course, being energetic on stage on top of that helps too, but I think when people are familiar with a song and hear it performed differently, even if it's a slight difference, they become more engaged in the performance.

Probably a stupid question, but I figure I'll ask it anyway. Which artists really demonstrate the most versatility and overall craziness of LSDJ? Besides the obvious choices like Bit Shifter and Nullsleep, I'm looking to dig a little deeper.

I'd say Plainflavored, Lo-Bat, An0va, and Danimal Cannon.

Thanks!

Hi! Any other forums besides this one? I'm looking for a particular place where I can find shows in NYC. Thanks, all!

Regular shows in NYC:
Pulsewave:  http://www.pulsewave.org
I/O:  http://www.iochipmusic.com

edit: silly comma, you don't belong in a URL. go home.

TONIGHT, YALL!

From what I've heard, bleo's story is correct.  I think android would be best suited for a tracker/sequencer, though every single piece of live-playable android music software has had far too much lag to make it a viable music tool. Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong- I have a touchpad with cyanogenmod on it and to be able to use that as a synth or drum pad with tolerable latency would be amazing.

holy fuck omodaka. what did i just watch and how was it so incredible?? we need to bring omodaka to the US asap!!

i think a piggy tracker port for iOS would be amazing too, especially if it supported sampling via the built-in mic or an iRig or something.

Right now the one tracker I'm aware of that works on iOS is SunVox, but that's very difficult to use on an iPod/iPhone size screen and works far better on an iPad.
