Really? The music groups are going after Game Boy covers now? Hitting up the big fish, I see.
I MADE THAT SONG TOLERABLE!
If there's something in the filename that likens it to a commercial release, even if the name just happens to be similar, it gets deleted. They're looking for people uploading these releases, not necessarily covers though it's still technically copyright infringement. If it's just a single song, the solution is to just use soundcloud or something. Mediafire is unreliable for hosting your own music.

^ This! Stay strong and hang in there. Not being patronizing either, but shit gets better if you stay positive.
Sweet.....that man is just amazing. The music as much as anything made the Streets of Rage games such a pleasure to play.

Not sure how much difference there is between the mini-jacks and the original 1/4" ones. I used an Arp 2600 before which had mini-jacks and it didn't seem to matter. The only thing is (depending on what type of device you're using) you'll probably have to use an adapter if you're plugging something else in for audio processing, CV input, etc....
At least they give you a lot of cables. I was watching a video from NAMM and somebody said the original only came with 2!
Thats odd. How can an analog synthesizer stay in tune?
Never heard of one
No idea. That's what they claim though.
Amlan wrote:I was wondering. Does anyone know how the new ms20 needs to be tuned?
It also seems to have mini-jacks instead of jacks for the moddeling part. Im not sure if thats a great improvement.
Still it's pretty cool they re-made it. And for such a price.

Supposed to ship 05-22-2013, at least according to Musician's Friend.

soz for diversion!
Nile!
I saw these posted on Waveformless yesterday and thought I was having a wet dream. I don't know about the keys one, but I would definitely pair the bass and drum modules with a mini MS-20. I'm seriously thinking that it's time to switch to more of a hardware set-up or at least just use more outboard gear than I usually do.
These days I save it for when I have a long, uninterrupted stretch of time (i.e.-a day off) where I know I can spend plenty of time on it and still have time for other unproductive activities like listening to music, watching movies etc. I've been having a lot of trouble getting inspired lately, so it just sort of happens when it happens.
I must be stupid or something because I have no idea what's happening here.

This is the mindset I stick to. I do it for fun and I don't try to make money off it. It's just a hobby. However, if your dream is to do it for a living then by all means at least try to make it work. Much good advice on this has been given previously. I can't really add anything to it except that I've had plenty of friends who pursued a career path they didn't necessarily want, rather than pursue their dream career because that thought something else would be more "practical" (and regretted it later one). I guess try it and if it doesn't work, you're never too old to start over.
As for my career, I'm a library para-professional. I've been doing this for 17 years now.

Glad it was positively inspiring, thank you!
Had a listen to some of your tunes and I'm liking the atmospheric approach. "Into the Chasm" is particularly great.
No prob, thanks for checking out my music too!

I could get behind this. Many discussion boards have a similar rule or you can't post in certain areas, i.e.-you can't post new releases at idmforums.com until you have at least 5 posts (or something like that), but 50 posts could be a bit excessive. It might encourage a new user to just spam the CC or Release forums, make a one-word post in every thread like "Cool!" or something just to get their first 50. Public forums are always going to have problems and creating ridiculously strict rules is not necessarily going to make them go away.
