That piano scroll is a cheap jab though

Actually, that piano slab is the closest analog real life representation I can find to a tracker!
A vertical step sequencer that scrolls. Brilliant, Shiru! big_smile

Absolutely. Most of the inspiration for me (and others, which whom shall remain nameless...tired of name dropping) is watching the notes trigger at insane speeds.

Overpriced, overrated piece of Atari poop.
I only like the casing.

I just *really* like the scrolling aspect of a tracker and as far as I know LSDJ doesn't scroll like a classic tracker should.

Surely a minor detail. LSDJ *IS* a tracker.
and there's no need to scroll because it uses 16 step patterns.

Since I am a drum machine/step sequencer person, I usually limit my tracker to use 16-step patterns too, so no scrolling. It doesn't add or take anything from my experience when composing.

LSDJ has, as said before, the simplest, most elegant and userfriendly interface for d-pad driven machines.

EDIT:  Actually, is that the same thing as modem tones?

No. Those are telephone tones.
I think what he needs is data establishment noises. The request was a bit confusing so I don't blame you for confusing these two tongue

8bw: get a modem and make them samples dude! Also: you can call a fax machine and record the noise, similar.

I've not checked the manual, but looking at this piccie :

There's two aux send jacks, and two stereo returns, so I think it will be OK.  It's just the Behringer build quality/reliability which is a concern.

But the FX overrides one of the buses and leaves you with just one send.
This is the same as the Xenyx 1204FX I used to have and it worked like that. I am not sure if you can use the two sends at once, I never tried, but the FX did override one of the sends when in use if not at all times (can't remember. Read that manual).

ie it's poop

Behringer X1204USB £134 - Basic FX version.  Can't help but consider it at this price.

You will have the same problem, SEND 1 is the internal FX. I don't know if you can use two sends at the same time but I remember this bus was shared with the internal FX.

No need, a majorly sized poster is planned, with the full text of the piece, censored (!) for t-shirt duties.

he was experimenting with switching DMG chips with ones from a supergameboy. from what i recall, he said there wasn't much that could be done

That only changed the bootstrap. The CPU is identical.

There is of course something you can do to solve this: OVERCLOCK the stinkin' DMG.
