Recording with a microphone kind of makes sense for an intro, but only if you had a microphone already plugged in and set up. Have you looked into any sort of post-processing? If you just want a hi-pass filter on some arpeggios, you can whip that up using the line-in. All it would take is audacity.

Unless you have no aspiration of "formally" promoting your music and becoming the big shot you should be, I say keep ??? yeah? When I want to tell people about you, it is extremely difficult. I just end up saying "his name is three question marks, just three literal question mark symbols". Depending how drunk that person is, they might remember that.
You're one of the few gameboy artists that I believe is actually being creative so I think you are well worth the recognition. I would completely understand a name change, and if you receive any internet backlash, it's from unreasonable folks who hate Van Hagar.
