This is awesome
the end
Come on dude, just upload the track here to chipmusic.org
i'm all for appealing to the general electronic music festival circuit but let's face it, there's a very clear path to getting there and it involves imitating whatever sound is in right now. 3 years ago it was dutch house, 2 years ago it was dubstep, now it's trap. you either start producing whatever is currently in with whatever tools are currently in, or nobody wants to hear what you are doing. at least, if you just want the fast track to playing electronic festivals, that's it.
I'd say dubstep is still gaining popularity... anyhow, I'd like to add to this by saying making awesome music isn't enough. There are so many little tricks and elements to EQing, mixing, and mastering that ultimately can make or break a track even if the track is bangin. And I'm talking about "professional" level electronic music... I've only recently just started getting into learning this stuff this year, and man is it interesting, but it's also a lot to wrap your head around. Always learning new things.
It's really inspiring to see artists upping their game to this level. Artists like MisfitChris, Prom Wolf, Rockman, Henryhomesweet to name a few. But hell I'll always love chip for what it is, and I'll never stop.

...
Also LSDJ + something else is cool too.
Don't get me wrong I *love* it when I hear a mind blowing track and find out it's just one Game Boy.
But saying you love the purity of 1xLSDJ, feel that 2 is somehow "less pure", but that you like LSDJ + something else is like me saying "I love solo classical guitar, but I don't like pieces with two classical guitars, but I do like classical guitar with piano, or percussion, or cello, etc."
So what I'm struggling to understand is why the second Game Boy is stigmatized whereas a guitar or Ableton is not.
Oh man nothing grinds my gears more than songs made with multiple classical guitars! ...jk... Well an example would be someone uses classical guitar in access of one and says "This song was written and recorded on classical guitar" but fails to mention that it's actually two.
I just get tired of all the praise people give some of these 2xLSDJ tracks for the sound design and how huge it is, especially when the artist doesn't mention that it is 2xLSDJ and just says "Made with LSDJ". It's like duh, this was made with 2 game boys, of course it's going to sound bigger. Again, there's nothing wrong in 2xLSDJ stuff in itself, it's just annoying when people view it and praise it as if it's made with 1.
I respect the cats that make 2xlsdj stuff and I realize it is also limiting and challenging.
To each his/her own but personally if I'm going to bring another gameboy in, Id just as soon bring in some "real" electronic kicks and snares. The challenge there is EQ, mixing, mastering to make it sound better.
Check out this one:
Prom Wolf makes some super impressive stuff with just 2ao3 for synths and some sort of daw for drums

Edit: 2ldr
I guess I don't understand what the difference is between using two DMGs versus adding synths or guitars or any additional equipment, really. It's not pure 1xLSDJ, is all. You're just adding to the equation. People are bringing up not being technically impressed or questioning the point of composing with a game boy, so I wonder what people think about LSDJ + anything else. Am I missing something? Just curious.
I read some various soundcloud comments and some comments in threads on a few 2 x LSDJ trax that expressed awe in the fact that the music was made with a gameboy, when in reality it was made with TWO gameboys. haha... So I guess sometimes when people post "Made with LSDJ" and its actually made with 2 LSDJ, it's misleading to people who can't tell the difference. Why do I care so much? Cause I guess at heart I'm a purist prick and am drawn to the aesthetic appeal of music made with one copy of LSDJ and people "pushing limits" with that. Also I love when I'm listening to a track and I'm thinking "wait, is this only one game boy or is it two?" and it ends up being only one.
A few examples of awesomeness:
ctrix
Analog - La Maquinita (Single)
A.M.U - Diamond (EP)
USK Picopicodisco (ep)
CCIvory:
The Unnatural
Club Bit
Machine
Mad Magician
My love
lots of good stuff out there I'm forgetting
Also LSDJ + something else is cool too.
Kit percussion used tastefully at times can make your tracks sound 100 times better
Edit: Also, play with a Wav Pingpong with a really low cutoff (1a or so) at the start column or the end column in the synth editing menu.
For me it's kind of like: if you're going to use more than 1 GB why not just use a different program in conjunction with lsdj, or why not use LGPT instead. I guess some people are more comfortable composing with LSDJ. I mean, there's some great shit out there (this is amazing: http://soundcloud.com/treyfrey), but from a composer perspective as someone who enjoys the limitations of 1 LSDJ, I'm just not as technically impressed with the 2x LSDJ stuff. Yea if done right it's gonna sound bigger, fuller, and more dynamic, and 8 channels is still limiting, but it looses it's aesthetic value to me and at that point I just think "why not add some real kicks, snares, synths?".
Edit: double thread post
Seems like 2x LSDJ stuff has gotten more popular over the last couple of years. There's some pretty sweet stuff out there, but but the LSDJ stuff I'm really impressed by is the single LSDJ trax. How do you guys feel about this? Discuss, post trax, etc.
Just unsubscribed from the LGPT mailing list today and it made me think of how cool it would be to have a LGPT forum. I love LGPT, but the mailing list feels like a forum that messages you every time there is a post in a thread. I'm not a ultra computer savvy cat, but I'd be willing to help in any way if someone else wanted to get the project rollin.
Roger dodger. Myself and Rockman are O.K. Lots of knocked over trees and the likes... Gambling, game of thrones + Becks beer = My 4 day weekend.
nice one, jelly belly.
So basically what everyone is saying is this guy is the wesley willis of chiptune?
I wish there were a t-shirt of the CMYK one. Would TOTALLY buy!
Regular chip is the basic stuff, stuff you wouldn't want to her preforming. i need that danky chip step
Honestly, if you have to ask this question, you're probably not at the point where anyone would want to hear you perform anyhow. That is not meant to be a huge burn, but at the same time it's probably true. Kids getting into chip are always in a rush to "release ep's" and "play shows". Take your time, practice and experiment, then in a year or two start dropping some ep's and playing shows.
Nice cover man. However, considering that it's two gameboys, I'm unimpressed by the synthesis
