ok. so here is the deal. i hate this thread. It always pops up and i doubt that the conversations are about finding kiwis any more. still this thread will disappear for like a month and then pop back up randomly. I am sick of it. that is all.

so while reading a interview with the creator of the sid chip, i remember him mentioning that there is a pin for processing external audio through the chip. He stated that no one ever used it. so i was wondering.... have any of you tried to do something with this guy? its pin 26.

I took a couple of minutes to make a song. problem is... i feel like it is too dark to be a megaman or tmnt style song.

according to this, pin 13 and 15 are the out. so we can jump that to the pot, kill the old traces, and then from post pot go to the jack, correct?

you would want to jump from the in not the out. The amp component is what adjusts the signal for headphones making it more loud and clear for other outputs tho.

Trash 80 made the first plans for the gbc prosound mod. It accomplishes this by going around the noisy amp chip and going straight out. all other prosound mods work the same way. by bypassing the amp it keeps the impedance of the signal at a level that is more suitable for instrument outputs which gives it a volume boost (als drops headphone signals).

what you can do is take from the 7 and 8 pins cut the 13 and 15 and send straight to the pot for an prosound without a added jack.

Sold my fb01. Dx7 for me. Much easier to program with no external control. The tx81 looks sick tho. Best part is u can program on the front panel easy.

I wouldn't call it easy.. I use a windows based editor.. piece of cake that!

running on mac. i tried a whole bunch of different options to try and get the thing working but it didnt pan out. I really just wanted to turn some knobs or press some buttons. I like the physical interaction and with software synths its built so simpal that doesnt even matter. the middle tho..... ewwwww. Dont know enought to learn sysex and not smart enough to care.

but for real. http://www.vintagesynth.com/yamaha/tx81z.php
