@Kinetic Yeah I usually use a mic for introduction/hype
@Krubbz Like I said before (regarding mics) i dont have much in the way of equipment. Since my mixer took a dive last month I am just using a little 4 channel in-line mixer. I would love to be able to mic the room, but wont be able to this time. hmm

OK!
So I've had some demand recently for a live recording of my weekly set.
I've never done any recording live before, and just want to make sure I go about this in the right way.
As far as gear goes, I don't have anything special recording/capture-wise.
The best I can figure, I should just run the tape/line-out from the club PA into the line-in on my lappy. Into like, audacity or something lightweight?
Then fix it up in post.

Anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks all

I may just have to take you up on this. in desperate need of prosound lol

I'm horrible with leds. I tried to do my own backlight kit once. Wrecked it lol. Soldering isn't a sport for me it seems. REALLY nice work on this thing man. Love the weathering.

Been playing the drums since 2002. Was in a ska band "The Mexican Ostrich" 2006 - 2011 on guitar and lead vox. High School band (snare drum), and church band (drums, guitar) since like 2002/3. Started making electronic music in highschool (so...2003?). Started Tracking in 2010.

NICE. Want. lol

Thanks for the uplifting comments y'all!
I definitely enjoy what I do, probably more than anyone that ever watchesme (except this guy Bryon, that guy just wigs out when I play).
Sub-topic: Anyone in the AZ area want to play a show? lol. Maybe combined forces will create interesting results.

So I know this is one that a lot of people can relate to.
You have some music out. You are developing a following (to some extent) and are starting to book more and more shows.
Maybe you have found one particular venue that you really shine at, and are fortunate to get a few shows there now and again.
More often than not, however, you end up with shows where you are booked with conflicting archetypes. (in my case hardcore/punk bands).
So that awesome set you slaved on falls flat to a bunch of disinterested concert goers there to see something different.

How do the rest of you approach this? I've found a couple of electronic-based groups here that are fun to play with, and a club that lets me play once a week or so. But my typical show is to an uninterested or generally confused crowd.

Being the only chip act in town is both a blessing and curse at times.

I see so many Pockets. I have 2, but I've always had cart crash issues with them. I'm jealous.
